I often feel people tend to humanise their pets, whereas I love all mine for being animals. In many cases I prefer animals to people anyway.

Anyway, I just went upstairs to get Archie so I could give him his meds and he was at the foodbowl eating. As Archie is a very fragile piggie with severe dental issues, I never disturb him when he's eating, so what did I do?

I say 'Oh you carry on Archie, just give me a shout when you've finished'.

Can you imagine my face if a little voice suddenly shouted from upstairs 'I'm finished now mum'. :))

Brilliant :)):)):))

Glad its not just me - my hubby always laughs at me for talking to the boys like they're little people (even though he does the same)!

It happens to everybody sooner or later because piggies are just such personalities!

PS: Did Archie shout? :))

Oohh, its good to have a good old natter with them, its great cos they are happy to listen and never argue back unlike the children and otherhalf!

When I sit with a piggy I instinctively smell them then kiss them, however I do it infront of my husband he give me a look that he is Jealous cos he doesnt get many kisses!

Haha :)) I have full conversations with my pigs they just sit there doing a little low squeak :)) I'd fall out of my seat if they talked back at me in human

haha I too am interested in whether he did indeed let you know when he had finished

Haha, I chat to mine all the time. I say things like how are you? And when Thelma was ill I'd ask her in the morning if she was feeling better. I swear my OH thinks I'm nuts but I have caught him chatting to them too :))

hehe its funny catching them out, my OH keeps telling me I'm going to turn into the crazy guinea pig lady like crazy cat lady on the simpsons :o but everytime he comes over I get a kiss at the door and then he pushes past me to see the piggies rolleyes

lol! :))

I chat away all the time, but it was the fact I asked him to call me when he had finished that really tickled me.

I realised in the early hours of the morning the other day that I've been working with children too long. My cat, Priya, grabbed my feet and dug her claws in as I slept. I woke myself up saying 'no thank you Priya, you are making mummy very sad'.

Hehe that's brilliant. I just realises I kind of tuck my piggies in bed at night oops! I say night, turn the light off and close the door. Then I realised I hadn't taken my meds so snuck in without putting the light on and whispering "sorry piggies". Then after closing the door I realised I hadn't taken their fleece out the washing machine and my instinct was "I can't disturb them again now, it'll have to wait til morning" :)) I think there is no hope for me

Now that its getting dark early, I leave their light on for a while. Then about 8 ish i go in and "put them to bed"
Make sure they have got plenty hay, that everyone is ok and switch off their light. I say "its nite nites now, go asleep night night"
When my OH goes to put out the light sometimes I tell him he must say nite nite. Dunno if he does tho lol cos he says I am mad and that they get treated better than him and the kids!

Course they do.....

We have been looking after a cockatiel recently which wool-whistles, my husband woke me up in the middle of the night as he was wolf whistling in his sleep... :))

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who tucks their piggies into bed!
I always say 'night night Phoebe, night night Paislee, love you both see you in the morning' :))

Yep, Misty gets tucked in too! Mind you, have done it for gone 5 years now so OH does it too! :)) I don't think he has noticed himself doing it!

Mists is great to chat to because she wheeks and makes noises at you if you talk to her x)

This thread has really tickled me! :)) I also chat away to my piggies, my OH always says "If they answer you back I'm putting them in a circus!"

I was reading this thread yesterday and made me laugh, when I got home I did it without realising lol

I took the veg bowl out to top up and Lacey went mad as usual, wheeking very loudly and I turned to her and said.... 'Lacey Lou its coming, shhhh, mummy is chopping as fast as she can'

I then realised I was doing it and laughed out loud
