I don't beleive what I have just done!

I was nursing Buffy and then I had to go out really quickly. I picked her up and put her back in the cage. Problem is it wasn't her cage it was Spike's! I can't beleive how absent minded I have been and am now really worried. They can't have been together for any more than 2 minutes and when my mum shouted they were together.spike was in the house and Buffy was in the log run but my mum thinks they had been running around.

It's been 2 weeks and just short of 2 days since he was neutered but am so paranoid that I endangered Buffy (she's one and don't think she has had babies.) Can they mate in 2 minutes? I don't know what to do! I wouldn't care minutes before I had been lecturing my mum and why they couldn't be togther yet but I have a terrible problem of slipping into auto pilot mode and losing minutes!
 
aww dont stress! I dont think they could have succesfully done it in 2 mins... my pigs have been together for 20 mins and not once mated... keep an eye on her though :) maybe a trip to the vets in a few weeks... not sure though... hope someone more experienced can help you :)
 
Yes, they can mate in 2 minutes, sometimes all it takes is 20 seconds...

however I think what with him being neutered for 2 weeks already you shouldnt worry too much.
While I would say to be on the safe side leave them apart for three weeks, the CCT reccons 2 weeks is enough, so...
 
I really wouldn't worry, there is the smallest and I mean the smallest chance they mated and it took in that time, especially since he has been neutered. :)
 
I swear someone should invent piggy pregnancy tests..... I am going to be paranoid now for 60-70 days! I am so so stupid. I have text vedra at the CCT and have tried googling to see what everyone thinks the wait time is.

I feel really irresponsible :(
 
Don't worry seriously, some guineas won't fall pregnant after six weeks together let alone 2 minutes, providing it was only two minutes you have nothing to worry about. ;)
 
I have no luck at all. If I wanted to happen it wouldn't and when I don't it will!

Poor Spike looks traumatised.... and he had only just started to trust me... what a bad piggie mummy :(
 
yer dont worry hun!

Cindy and Wilson were together for like 2 months and she didnt fall pregnant until close to the end of the 2 months! I'm sure they couldnt do much in 2 mins and there is a slim chance he would have been able to ::) lol

Your not a bad piggy mummy... you were in a rush! :) I nearly do that but they all share a sectioned cage so its pretty easy to remember ;D

I bet the guineas thought woah we're together again, and then you come rushing in, awww rats we're apart again :tickedoff:
Wont be long and they can stay together :smitten: :smitten:
 
I hope so! They hadn't ever met like that before they have only been able to see and smell each other so I'm hoping for the 2 minutes they were together making babies didn't cross they're mind!
