OK so I already stated he begs now for food when i get up and later on in the day but now He has fresh food in there and still squeaks(begs) for more food, I dont get it, doesnt make any sense, Like Right now he has a couple carrots lil grass, cucmber and celery stick, I walk past he runs out and starting squeaking at me.. Why does he do that if he still has a ton of food there??

They always want something more that they don't have! :))

Or maybe he's just happy to see you. :)

I think he wants attention. Talk to him, cuddle him, give him the love he's asking for.

Some of mine ask for attention (loudly) while standing on their food! Columbine comes to the doorway (they run round the floor) and gives me a thousand yard stare that plainly says pick me up. Chamomile will ignore new food and stand on my feet if she wants a cuddle after I've wandered in there and put down some food. They just like attention!

well I try to do that a lot to but sometimes when i try to reach in and pet him he will run back off and hide and sometimes grind his teeth, But i think he grinds some because he wants certain foods...

anyone else have the above?

yeah he is alone, Just cant deal with having 2 at the moment, but i give him PLENTY of attention, He controls my life lol

Two is easier that one, to be honest as they keep each other entertained and you still only have the same amount of cleaning and care.

no it woudl be double the poop and pee.. so double the cleaning and double food means more money.

plus hes a boy and I'm not having babies lol

I have two boars together, and it doesn't really cost too much more to keep two:))

One will get very upset when the other one isn't in the cage as they have a close bond and love spending time together:))

It does sound like he's lonely and that's him shouting on you for company.

There isn't that much more mess having 2 piggies - I currently have 1 lone piggie and 2 other ones (though in a few weeks will be attempting to put them all together). It also isn't that much more expensive for the food either.

I really think you should think about getting him a wee friend for company -they're very sociable and you'll love watching them interact with each other. They're very funny!

I kind of look at it in terms of humans. We are social creatures too. How long could I bear to go without seeing another human? Then I wonder why all of my guinea pigs are sitting alone each in a different level of the cage? I have just told them that they don't know how lucky they are!

Your guinea pig is only doing what you've taught him - squeek and you get fed more lol. Exactly like kids do! Cant blame the little chap tho because thats all he has to do :(

I'm not saying ignore him because I'm afraid he'll probly die of boredom, just give him things to do. If your dead set against getting him a friend then make his cage a playground. Hide his treats and let him out for runs round.

Do remember he IS a guinea pig - he needs 'guinea pig' friends to communicate with and needs lots to do. His species are designed for constantly on the go, running round through tunnels & hiding.:)

he has all that and seems to be happy he runs around and popcorns a lot in his cage.. I try to take him outside but he is super scared and always wants to run back in or hide.. Ive been working with him, I have a playpen for him but once he gets in there he runs physco trying to get out.

I'm just worried about getting another and them not liking eachother and then fighting... wont be pretty
