I don't know.... help me please

Let me be honest with you all, I'm not a big animal lover.
However I WOULD NOT mistreat any animal, and i would not disrespect anybody's pet.
I'm not a cat lover, repile lover, horses and goats frighten me.
My hubbies family have all of the above and when i go to their house i respect the fact that they love them dearly.
My dog is a rescue who was regulaly beaten and thrown out of a moving car as a puppy
I love my piggies, and i have had gerbils and hamsters.
If any one came to my house saying awfull things about my pets i think i would show them the door, I appreciate that not all people are animal people however if you dont like mine and you dislike them so much you dont have to stay !
I am trying to teach my children to be kind and loving to all living creatures... which makes my hair stand on end when my daughter comes in holding a huge spider and sticks it right under my nose for me to see lol

Why not type and print your own sign and attach a photo of one of your own guinea pigs? If you can get the sign laminated so much the better.

Yes, I've got the cat version too, although can't remember where I got it - it was years ago. I think it's a great idea to make your own sign, with a picture of piggy(s) on it, then laminate it.
 
I don't tend to take people seriously (unless they're coming at me with a knife or I see a hand being raised in which case it's foetal position time!) so I'd probably have responded by telling her that guinea pigs and rats are caged for our own good. If they were in fields they'd multiple at such an astronomical rate they'd run out of grass and start going for the throats of little children. Once the little children were gone they'd go for you [friend] because you did not feed them when they were caged.

Accompanied by me manically laughing (in my mind!) and putting extra cayenne powder over her salad. Bwhahahah, fiery mouth of doom!
 
Thats such a nasty thing to say, its like going to your friends house and calling their children revolting! People have their own opinions, if she was a real friend i think she could of been a little bit more sensitive about it or just not said anything at all! My other half looks at my piggies as if to say "whats the point" but even though he's allergic to them, he cant help but watch them and have a stroke ^) I think I'm converting him :(|) Maybe you should tell her that what she said hurt your feelings and really upset you?
 
well,my supervisor told me yesterday that she hates guinea pigs and she didn't know why i had them. i asked her if she had pets, she said she had a dog that had been put to sleep recently, i said it was just as well because dogs are revolting (and everything she said about pigs), i think she got the point.


btw, i didn't mean a word of it because i love most animals (i just have a phobia of shelled animals, they're the only ones i dislike!)
