He is bumping into things and when he tries to eat he stops and its like he is paralized and stays like that for a long time. He is very skinny but i have been feeding him every day. He is 6 years old. Is he just getting really old and about to die?
He started to run to his house shaking alot and is laying down. Now he is trying to move around and keeps falling down. What is happening

I'm sorry I cant help (I'm sure someone else can) but it sounds like he needs to see a vet?

I'd take him to the vet for a check up, they will be able to advise you properly :) I hope it's nothing serious! We have a guinea that bumps into things, sometimes a bit wobbly, he's been to three vets to have his ears checked because he sometimes has a head tilt, non of them could see anything wrong with his ears, the last vet said he may have been born like it, something neurological, he's ok other wise, an happy lad :)

he needs to see a vet. there is a vet locator at the top of the page if that would help.

Definitely get him to a vet for a check over as it doesn't sound very pleasant for him. Hope its nothing serious, poor boy

Sounds very much like it could be an inner ear infection which is treatable but he needs to see a vet ASAP.

Adding to @Flinstone's post, inner ear infections can be nasty if not treated. The infection can end up in the brain and kill the guinea pig, or cause permanent brain damage. I know that sounds scary, but I hope you can see how urgently your guinea pig needs to see a vet. Yes it COULD be an old age thing, but it doesn't sound like a normal old age symptom to me, not for guinea pigs anyhow. It is also possible that he has had a mild stroke, and is wobbly and confused. What ever it is none of us here can diagnose it, and it could well be something that can be treated (the earlier, the better), so please see a vet as soon as you possibly can.
Whilst being aged six is old, some guinea pigs do live far beyond that age (sometimes several years beyond), and with a bit of a helping hand he could have quite a while of health left in him if you and your vet can sort this problem out.

All the best, and please keep us updated, as someone here may be able to give you some handy tips once the issue has been diagnosed. Good luck.
