I was able to persuade my OH to house our piggies indoors over the winter but , now the weather is getting better, he is starting to hint about setting up the outdoor hutch and putting them outside. I much prefer to have them indoors. We recently lost one of my boars (Monty) and have recently paired my remaining neutered boar (Max) with 2 sows. This new trio is starting to settle in nicely. I am happy for them to spend some time on grass in a run in the evening but would prefer to bring them indoors overnight. My last "duty" of the day is to top up their Timothy Hay. Last night , I couldn't believe how loud their squeaks were at the excitement of getting a fresh supply of Timothy. I don't think it will be the same if they are in a hutch outside.

I do understand.....i feel the same but I think my boars are going to have to go outside for the summer. My husband thinks that the teddy girls should stay inside as they are delicate little flowers ;)

My boars hutches are going in a shed for extra protection. This requires my husband to dismantle and move the shed up to the house so they may stay in the house all summer!

I know how you feel! My 2 were meant to be going back outside in May but when Barney was out of sorts about a month ago I decided they couldn't go back out in case I missed an illness - at least that was the reason that I gave MrS. Really I would just miss them far too much. Thankfully he agreed with me (well, he knew it was easier to agree than fight a losing battle). I love having my little men in the lounge - I look with envy at photos of other folks piggy rooms but I don't think I could even move them into one of their own - I just love having them with me all of the time!

I already had a pair of indoor piggies who could not now live outside when a few weeks ago I adopted another pair. OH said the new pair had to live in a hutch In the garage and he would then put them outside when weather was better. However, the little darlings are still living in my dining room and the OH has gone off the idea of building a further shed for them so he says they can stay indoors and that I now need to sell the hutch on eBay! I'm thrilled as I love the interaction you get from having them indoors

I have had them outside in the past but my girls live inside and wouldn't have it any other way, makes so much difference

Don't blame you. My 2 boys live inside all year round, but then all my pets over the years have always lived inside including the current resident pooch. I would just worry too much about them otherwise & like @VickiA I love the interaction you can only get from pets indoors.

My boys started as outdoor pigs. Then came inside...then got moved to the shed.
They will be going outside when the weather is better.
I have no control it's me vs mum
mum won :/
They gave a 2 tier indoor cage so I want to get them a two tier hutch

I understand, my pigs have always been inside and when they're not in their cage but I'm in bed I can't sleep because there's no noise!?

It's me vs husband in our house. I love having them around. Their indoor cage is a C&C on a platform above the spare bed. I got away with bringing the in for the winter on the theory that we don't have guests during the winter. I'd prefer to keep them indoors and not have guests at all!
