Just make sure they wash their hands straight after.
Thinking about pellets- pellets were only first used to fatten up rabbits and guinea pigs for meat. A lot of people don’t use them and the emphasis should definitely be on good quality hay over anything else.
I’ve just looked wild harvest up online and it looks to be a muesli style mix - is it different coloured pieces?
If it is, then those kinds of foods are not recommended. They should have an all in one pellet type of food such as burgess, oxbow pellets, science selective, Harrington’s (to name a few).
Also, a cup and a half of it sounds like too much. My pigs get one tablepsoon each of pellets once a day.

Just a different culture- I suppose it’s not much different to the people who eat rabbit, especially in Spain or all the homesteaders in the US that farm rabbits for meat- actually UK included.thats so sad![]()
When I worked at a vet college in the USA I knew some vets from Peru whose families traditionally farmed guinea pigs and llamas... they were brilliant piggy and llama vets because if its your family's only source of wool and protein you need to be I guess! Personally I'm as veggie as my piggies are but if it wasn't for domestication by traditional farmers in south america we wouldnt have any pet piggies at all...Just a different culture- I suppose it’s not much different to the people who eat rabbit, especially in Spain or all the homesteaders in the US that farm rabbits for meat- actually UK included.
I think traditionally it was a good protein source especially high up in the Andes where the soil was too poor to support livestock.
Yay!Good news ! I cleaned the cage yesterday and checked this morning and there was no more signs of diarrhea . All hard poops yay !![]()
