when i see roast guinea pig on google images...
if you type in guinea pig you get all these cute guinea pig pigtures and in the midst of them all roast guinea pig pics... :)>>>

aww yea not the best thing to do unless you want to see piggies on the dinner plate.

to be honest as a meat eater id personally find it rather hypocritical if I said I felt sick at the photos of roast guinea pig but found roast chicken to look yummy.

I personally do not have a problem with those images, humans eat meat and depending on where you are in the world it isnt just chicken, pork, lamb and beef that are eaten.

Id eat dog, cat, horse, guinea pig etc if I were in a country that didnt frown upon it

At the end of the day something like a pig (of the pork variety) is more intelligent than most dogs yet we eat it but we would never eat a dog.

I feel the same as you really. For example in this country we raise cattle for food yet if you go to India then the cow is a sacred animal and would never be eaten. Its a difficult one as now that I have owned guinea pigs as pets I don't think I would ever try eating one if I went somewhere like Peru but most meats I would try if they were normal for the country

I am a vegetarian and don't like the sight of any dead animal. However, I appreciate the fact that people eat different animals in other Countries and to them, it is no different to us eating chicken, beef and pork.

We have two gerbils, a cat, a hamster and of course, the four guinea pigs. Hubby is a meat eater and openly admits that he would try anything once. This is a horrible thought to me but not to him.

Yes, we have guinea pigs as pets but some people also have chickens as pets. Surely it is the same thing?

I intend to have chickens as pets and don't know how it will affect me as at the moment I love chicken. I suppose time will tell whether I can carry on eating it or not

We keep chickens, we've 8 right now but previously had 5 (all gone to chicken heaven now :0) and it never bothered me, i love roast chicken still :(|)

i havent seen a roast guinea pig yet cant imagine it'd look particularly appealing now i've got the boys i'll say lol!

Peruvian food. I find it horrible as I am not used to it and they have their feet and heads still on. But when I had chickens eating other chickens didn't bother me.

Yea

I am a meat eater but it does make me squirm seeing the little beasts on a dinner plate :/
