I went to the room they were in. tried to get them both as Usual they where running about so I couldnt get them. When I did finally get them. Toby (being toby) climbed up into my hair! He started to wheek so I pannacked thinking I was hurting him so I quickly got hold of him and out of my hair , forgetting I had patchy. Luckily we where sitting down but the door was open! I put my leg down to stop him getting anywhere but I think I went down to fast because I heard a high pitched *WHEEEEEK* I looked down and I mustve caught him . So my mum took toby to the cage and i took patchy. patchy was a bit shaken but I looked him over and he's fine. Still running around like mad. Then later I held patchy :'( he got out of my hand and ran for the door. My immediat thought was, THE DOG! I caught him in time.
I started crying saying that I wasnt fit to own them. All they ever do is get hurt when around me :'(
By the way- I have never actully dropped them before.
It's not your fault... you're just trying to look for what's best! It's good that you didn't want them both to get hurt, although one did =/. It was an accident the door was open, and as long as your dog didn't get him you're fine... I'm sure you're a wonderful guinea pig owner, it's just you're having a bad day.
yes they are probably fine and just abit shaken and ive done this before too - no worries they will be fine - We ALL have little accidents I'm sure theyll be fine O0
Its not your fault hun, we all have slip-ups infact whilst i was cleaning out at the shop today i lost grip of a piggy and he fell on the floor and ran off, i spent ten Min's trying 2 coax him out from under the shelves. He was wheeking the whole time, i was thinking what will the customers think? Piggy is all fine, they are tougher than u think
My Thomas is a right little tough one. She fell onto a bin bag because she run out while I was getting her sister and she has also jumped about 4ft from a kitchen top when I was weighing her...both time I nearly died but she just speeds off running happily 98).
OMG that Patchy is a right little monkey eh > > >
You're just going to have to be reallll careful with him, don't they give us near heart attacks eh : : :
Hope you're feeling ok again :o :o
Take care of yourself, and those cheeky little ones of yours
Oh I know how you feel. I was cleaning my girlies area and Rosie hopped right out of my arms onto the floor. I was so scared because I heard they were fragile and I am so new at this. I almost cried but she was fine. I think guineas just don't like to be held at least mine don't. I am hoping to bring them around tho because they are so darn cute.
My Rosie wriggled out of my hands a day or two ago, she landed on the floor (unharmed although they drop like a house brick don't they - and absolutely no sense of fear!) and ran under the hutch which is outside (I thought we'd lost her) but my daughter managed to capture her :smitten: It's made me a bit nervous now actually. It takes me forever to get them all in and out of the run now. :
