Hi all, I found this tent and I was just wondering what you thought of it as I am thinking of getting it for herbie but I'm not sure if it is too small for him the measurements for it are 32cm by 32cm by 28 high. He is 27cm should that be ok as i don't want him to be squashed.

Thanks all (oh and this is not my guinea pig this is a pic of the tent and someone elses guinea pig. This is from that site that does rescue animals

That looks great, I was thinking about getting my piggies on of those because Grissom loves hiding in things :)

I have one, mine love it :)

they do it in different sizes though (at least where I bought mine) so I would have to check the measurements to make sure you are not buying the small one. I bought the medium one.

Its really good.. inside it, in the four corners it has velcro, so you can secure the white fluffly blanket thing that comes with it to line it.
You can take the blankie out to wash - but I found mine poo and pee on it so quickly that its better to put a small towel on top of their blanket anyway.

It also has four little hoops on the outside corners, and comes with these little metal stick (L shaped, dont know what you call them) so that if you put the tent in an outside run, it cannot be knocked over, or blown over by wind. (it is very light)

the material of the tent is very light so good for summer I suppose, and it is wipeable with a damp cloth.

Id give it 9 out of ten - I really prefer my piggy houses to have at least two openings, so thats the only bad thing.

I think my furballs would probabaly eat it

Mine try to eat anything - cardboard, plastic, wood, newspaper, metal, whatever they get their teeth on..
however with the tent, they tried to have a nibble, and then just left it, never touched it again.

Maybe the tent material just isnt tasty enough for piggies?

That is Sascha in the tent! I gave him a cuddle just the other day!

He is a very chunky pig to say the least and having seen the tents I know that they are very good size. I don't think there has been much trouble with pigs chewing at them - just not tasty I guess?

Looks like a lot of fun for a guinea pig. I think the size would be fine, if you get one let us know what you think about it. :)

Thistle Cavies is a very worthy cause. 100% of the money goes to the rescues, she does a great job up there with all the guineas. Wendi finds lots of guineas new Forever homes.

as i said it comes in different sizes...

and as starshine said, that is just a very big piggy, for a normal sized one they are fine :-)

i've been thinking about buying some of these little tents for my piggers only thing that worries me is if it can be washed easily because my piggies would do loads of wees in it. the good thing about pigloos is they dont have a base that can get soiled.

the tent can be rinsed out in your shower, but I dont think youll need to, as the lining at the bottom can be taken out for washing. :)
