So I've got my little one from the P@H AC.
I got lectures from the guy there that 'he must be kept alone'. Idiot.
They had sold him with two other boars, no wonder they were fighting.
He's in the playpen temporarily and is settling in, he doesn't look like he's ever been handled as at 9months he's very nervous but I'm sure he will come around.

I've renamed him Wigner (pronounced Vigner) after the Theoretical Phycist.

He's such a beauty, I'll get some pics if he settles later:)
 
I'm so happy. I also stopped a woman from buying three boars, I go around the place 'informing' people. Oh well, someone has to do it.
 
Marmite, or should i say, Marmy pig, wanted to say hello as he's an"Aggressive" pets @ home forever alone piggy rolleyes
unfortunately when the day before i went to get him he was taken home by someone else, only to be put with 2 other boys ! however he came back same day and i just had to wait a little extra quarantine time !
he says he's happy you took your new piggy home so he can find a friend just like he will when he's settled more after he got a little distressed from having 4 other foster piggies in the house ! 2 of which were girly pigs !

It's always very hard not to kick up a fuss! They are so obnoxiously arrogant 99% of the time.
 
MOC i think you may have started me on something. I now feel the urge to go on "patrol" at my local P@H too!

You should aha Someone needs to inform people or more keep taking them on not knowing what to expect!
I get tempted to give this website address out to anyone I see buying piggies.

It was quite close up but yes, he is MASSIVE!
I have no idea what his old owner was feeding him but my god, I think he'll break my kitchen scales when it comes to weighing time. He's only 9 months so he still has a bit more growing to do as well. :...

Fantastic news. I'm sure hes going to have a much better happier life. :)

Good on you for advicing that person about trios too. I almost bought a boar trio when I went to buy my first two. Luckily when I went back to buy them the third was gone. The petshop never adviced otherwise.

it makes me so mad in aquatic shops. they sell the wrong fish to live with each other and do not seem to have a clue. i have a 5 foot tank with community fish in it and an elderly neighbour who calls around for a cuppa each day loves sitting watching my tank. he decided to treat himself to one. i have sat and explained everything to him - about the water, types of fish that can live together etc. the stupid staff in the 2 shops that he goes to have let him buy tiger barbs, guppies and a siamese fighter along with several others that shouldn't be together. the barbs are ripping the others to pieces but he cannot catch them to take them back. how do they get jobs in these places when they obviously know nothingmalletheadmallethead

I go around doing that aswell, I bet we know more info then the people working in Pets @ Home
