I got two lovley guinea pigs!

I just got two lovley piggies from someone who was looking to rehome them because her son developed allergies. They are two females, 2 years old and one is white and the other is white with black speckled all over her. They are both sisters and one has had babies. They came with everthing for $40 (huge rabbit cage, food, toys, waterbottle, and hayrack) The only thing I am concerned about though is that they have not come out of their igloos yet. I put Timothy Hay in there and they didn't move. I held them at the place we got them from and they seemed very placid. Is it normal for them to hideout for a couple of hours? When should I take them out for the first time? If you have any taming tips, that would be much appreciated. Oh one last question...are the snack shak logs ok for them? They came with one and I am not sure its safe.

Congratulations. It will take some time for them to settle into their new environment. Keep a close eye on them, making sure they are eating and drinking O.K. (they will probably do more of this during the night). To start building up a bond first start by talking to them and checking on them throughout the first few days, next let them have a run about in an enclosure/run/room etc and just sit with them so they get use to you presence. After another few days start handfeeding them and handling them for a small period of time, a couple of times a day. Then just build up the time. I am not sure what log you are on about, but if you are in doubt take it out. O0
