Don't worry, I hate traffic wardens as well! If I catch one of them in my garden chasing the piggies and peeing against the fence, they'll get squirted with the water pistol as well! :))

ROFLMAO!!

Seriously, I love all animals and the cat was only doing what cats do.
I do sympathise with you tho' and I'd go along with the water method.

OMG - just catching up on this - Mrs Highway Man did really well - thank goodness she was watching through the window .... but bet she got a real fright.... along with everyone else ....

I dont really mind cats....and lots come through my garden .... but they are trying to kill the baby birds at the moment ..... so I just let the dogs out now :)) .... they soon leave! If they are happy to chase birds.... then they should be happy to be chased....

x

PS I should mention my dogs are old and have health issues and I make sure the cats get a head start ...... cos to be honest the dogs couldnt really withstand a fight with a cat...... but its good to keep them on their toes :))

I have NEVER nor EVER SHALL hurt a cat or any other living creature. I am appalled at the violence that some people show to innocent animals and it makes me physically sick to imagine the pain that this abuse can cause.

I am simply annoyed that the cats use my garden as a toilet, my children play out there and even my dogs don't go in the back garden. We have a huge side and front garden that they use. Which I obviously clean up.

I totally understand that cats are as they are, it is just frustrating. I am saying no more about this subject, I am horrified that it has become a debate on animal cruelty. Just to clarify, I love ALL animals, I simply prefer some animals over others as pets.

Ditto and well said!

i will be honest now and i'm sorry if i upset anyone but if i had to hate anything it would be the people that hurt cats. i have 9 rescue cats all of which have had a terrible life before coming to me. only 5 of them went out of our garden until some sicko shot one of my cats, burnt two of them with acid and swung the one that got shot around so violently by her tail that she had to have it amputated. her tail was smashed to bits, her face was cut where she hit the ground and she very nearly died. she spent a week in the vets fighting for her life due to some lowlife thinking it was fun. prior to this she kept going missing for days on end and coming back starving hungry and scared. we do not want to imagine what happened to her in the time she was gone. we have now spent all our savings paying huge vets bills and building a wooden structure (i call it my catservatory) off the back of the house so that they can get fresh air but without the dangers of getting hurt. the people who did this wanted to stop them 'messing' in their garden! i wish i could swing a few people around and let them see how it feels. they are nothing but scum

Thats just plain sick :( Cats are my first love and I could do nasty things to anyone who hurt them! A neighbor shot at my cat once, he was in my garden and the neighbor tried shooting from his upstairs window. If I had managed to get through his front door that day I would have stuck that gun where the sun don't shine!

Theres nothing wrong with cats I LOVE them.
I would NEVER let my piggys run around in the garden unsecured even with me their! Not just because of cats but also because of birds of prey, I dont have a grassed garden but my parents do so in the summer I take them their and they have a secured run, reason being is twice I have seen birds of prey in their garden, 1 which snatched a bird from a small tree about 3 meters away from me, it scared the living daylights out of me! My cat is great with my piggys and never bothers with them even when they are on the floor, she usually just sniffs them and leaves. And when I was a kid and had my 1st piggy Bubble RIP I once forgot him on the lawn as I ran to answer the phone and about 1 hour later saw our cat Tommy RIP chasing something I then remember about Bubbles, my cat had been stopping him from running under the shed. The neighbours cat use to always 'nose' with him whenever he went up to his cage, and when I use to show my piggy to him he use to groom him. Cats are just doing what is in their nature, if we put an 'unknown opportunity' in front of them of course they are going to take it, thats our mistake not theirs

Orange peel and pepper is good at keeping cats away, my mums neghbour uses a water pistol, shes even done it to my mum and dads cat but we dont mind as it doesnt harms him and will make him think twice about 'going' in her garden lol. To be honest I have used the water pistol myself as we had a local tom that would constantly pee up my back door, lets just say my back door is now pong free

That is truly awful. I am so upset and sad to hear that. Your poor cats. They are just innocent animals that mean no home.

My rabbits (RIP) used to take care of the cat problem for us in our back garden. When we still had them, only 'new to the vicinity' kitties were stupid enough to come in our garden. The old timers knew much much better.

Something like being rudely disturbed 'doing the business' or sunbathing on the lawn by one or two hacked off rabbits kept them away... Good bunny wabbits. They all learned off each other. Daddy rabbit taught mummy rabbit (we didn't intentionally breed them), baby rabbits watched mummy and daddy rabbits and learned that cat = bad = chase off.

Now we get every damn cat in the area in our garden, doing their business wherever they please and stalking the pigs in their hutches/run. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind cats - just those that stalk my babies. It's a shame we don't have any guard bunnies anymore - they'd always protect the pigs.

I'm so glad your piggies are okay! That's so awful! : (

An old friend of mine went through something similar. Except the cat was hers, and she also had a little hamster. Somehow, the cat managed to get to the hamster and he ate it. She didn't know whether or not to love the cat anymore. :...

Just to confirm, I don't hate all cats, just the 2 that tried to kill my babies. Angel and Lola didn't have the best start in life until they came to me to be pampered for the rest of their lives. Wonky mog from next door has spent many a night on my lap watching tv whilst getting his ears scratched and stroked till he's purring so loud, I cant hear the tv! :))

Oh my god how scary for you, I really want toput my 2 outside but as I have just moved I haven't sussed out what the cat situation is in the neighbourhood.
