My new girls arrived this evening, bless them.
I have no info on them as they were someone's 9 year old grandsons who didn't want them any more and the grandfather got fed up of looking after them :( No names, no sex, no ages.

Obviously I've sexed them and they're both girls, under a year old I would guess. (How can you estimate ages?)

1 is black with a little tan on her, we've called her Beamish ? after the beer ::) :smitten:
the other girl has similar markings to Marmite & Piglet and we've named her Tia - :smitten:

They came with everything, large indoor cage, hay, food and run. The previous owners just wanted :'( :'( :'( rid of everything.

Well done Amanda on taking them in. If you want me to put piccies up again just wheek! :D Love the names! Beamish! ;D

Age is hard to tell, thickness of nails is a way and also eyes I would say but I'm not sure if this is a fact. My one year old pigs tend to look a bit darker in the whites of their eyes but in my young pigs they don't have that! I was going to raise this on the forum, just haven't got around to it. :) Not sure if that is a way to check though!

Can't wait to see them! :smitten:

I will wheek if I may, you know how useless I am!

Their cage just seems massive, no idea where we're going to put it as the rest of my herd have moved outside for the summer :D

Sometimes by just looking in their faces you can see how old they look.....not a surefast way of telling but definately baby/young pigs look 'young'

good for you for taking them in O0 it is sad they were no longer wanted :'( :'( :'( but it was good they weren't neglected and with the big cage and everything and being with you they are lucky girls :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: will wait eagerly for pictures ;D ;D ;D

Well done for taking them in and looking after them. Although it is sad that the previous owners didn't want them anymore, they were also responsible for accepting that was the case and letting them go to a kind home, albeit with everything that went with them.

Post some piccies when you can ... you are a very kind person and the piggies are very lucky to have you! :smitten:

Sunshine&Twinkle has kindly posted pigtures up in the photo gallery :D
