My friend has given me a cozy bed she no longer wants for her Rabbit, its hardly used. It says hand wash….so of course I have put it in the washing machine! 🤣 Only on a 30C wash I wasn't brave enough to go higher.
Do you think the Guinea pigs can use it, or too risky?
She has also given me some unused puppy pads, now her rabbit is fully toilet trained. I have put them in another room to the piggies for now. Do you think I would be ok to use them too? I have no idea where she stored them.

Thats lovely of your friend to give it to you.
Perhaps I’m over cautious but I think I would wash it several more times before giving it to your piggies.

I work hard to ensure my rabbits and guinea pigs and their equipment are never near each other and that there is no risk of any cross contamination

My piggies had one of those beds and refused to go anywhere near it! It looked so cosy but they were not interested in the slightest!

I have them beds and like kids with boxes piggies don't seem bothered,
Cos it looks cute to us not to them but we still buy them lol,
I'd wash it again perhaps on a higher temp , , dry and give it piggies,
I put a box next to piggie beds and oh yes box wins, mine now and then jump in look super cute, pose for photo only to skip out, 😆
So best of luck,

Our boys love a cardboard box- I haven’t really brought any soft bed items. They only use the cuddle sacks for lap time- otherwise they turn their noses up at them! Hammocks apparently are for sleeping underneath.
Maybe my gut instinct was right & I will find the bed a new home with someone else.
Do you think the puppy pads will be ok?

Thank you everyone. Will definitely wash the bed again over the weekend, and get it out in the sunshine to dry, then decide.
Those wine boxes look good.…. unfortunatly we are an alcohol free house, but the boys love a delivery box. The one in this photo unfortunately had so many alterations done by H&H that it collapsed! 130251E8-0193-45CC-B14E-2794B2C01430.jpeg
