Funny you should mention that! My boy Hazelnut loved going around with me on my shoulder which meant my one hand was in use supporting his butt. Sometimes I would need two hands, so would have to put him down, but then he'd try desperately to get back on my shoulder. Once I put him down on the benchtop and he did a high jump trying to get back up. Fortunately I caught him before there was an accident. But that led me to try and figure out a way to carry him around more safely. I bought a couple of arm slings at the chemist, sewed up the sides so he wouldn't fall out and carried him across my chest like a messenger bag. He loved it!
Then Peanut Butter arrived. He protests in ear-piercing squeals if separated from Hazelnut and the arm sling would squash them if I tried to put both in. But I found a small soft fabric dog carrier with a shoulder strap that I now use to carry both around the house as I do chores.
