I am totally smitten with our new guinea pigs!^)

I bought them for my kids and they havent had a look in lol! (just kidding!)

We are learning heaps from them and I'm amazed at Theo, Simon and Alvins little personality's coming out! Simon is quite noisy and very inquisitive, Theodore is still quiet but happy to be cuddled and Alvin is getting there , he seems the most timid but we are making masses of progress.

We have spent this afternoon re-arranging their cage and making a shelf to make more room for them to run about in the base, ive ordered them some new beds & hidey-holes and even my husband is involved (he's currently outside testing his woodwork skills and making a ramp up to the newly installed shelf!).

While I'm here, thank you to everyone who has given me advice on settling our new 'critters' in x>>

So, so glad we never bought a hamster like we intended!

Well that's my little ramble...just had to share lol! :))

Guinea pigs are seriously addictive! x)

You can always have heaps of fun just by pegging an old tea towel to the run and letting it pool on the floor or with hay filled toilet rolls - not all toys need to be expensive! Soap or shoe boxes can be lots of fun as well, as can little hurdles made with rulers! Or just throw in an old bath towel so they can sneak underneath it!

Aw, that's lovely! Glad to hear your boys are settling well.

As Wiebke says, it's very easy to become addicted to our little friends xx>>> xx

Or give them the cardboard trays out of apple boxes they love the smell, and they are good for chewing on as well.

I'm glad you are so smitten and we definately need to see pics of your set up and the new ramp etc :(|)

Well the boys are totally made up with the refit of their home, they have been fleeing up and down the ramp and having mad little fits - popcorning' i believe? We have also had a new noise tonight - Simon found his 'feed me now' wheeeeeekkkkkkk!

Will get some pics up soon once i figure out how to get them onto my new laptop!

I can definately see how you guys are so addicted to these little furries, they certainly are fantastic little creatures! x)
