I have been looking for an opportunity to talk to a neighbour who lives across the road for a while as they have an Ark run on top of the shed, and I was going to be cheeky and ask if it was no longer needed, could I have it for my fosters. Turns out they had a guinea piggy that they no longer wanted, and admitted she wasn't being looked after as well as she could be. So.... not only have I acquired an ark run for my garden, but also Maggie a beautiful almost 5 year old piggy with a coronet just to add to the cuteness. Helen (Hels) and Louise (Sunshine and Twinkle) have both very kindly offered Maggie a home, so on Sunday she will be off to Liverpool to live with Louise and her gang. We thought this the best option due to travel distances. I am off work tomorrow, so this little lady is going to have a pamper day :) :)

This has been a busy couple of hours, A short story, with a very happy ending. x

She's lovely Jane. :) She's like a Mrs Eccles! I have a spare indoor cage so she will stay in our living room for now, I will see which group of sows she bonds more with and take it from there. :) I have three groups so its up to her really. She will have plenty of company.

them has fell asleep, (won't get her to bed early) but she will be so excited when I tell her. Peter already knows, he was fine with it although did think I said five guinea pigs and not aged five when I called him at work! :(|)

Think you're gonna have to sit up all night again with the baby name books.:(|) Mrs. Eccles sounds good. I was thinking of Teneel (spell?) as in Captain and Teneel, or are you too young to know who they are? :(

Haha oh we have decided to keep Maggie and pet name Mrs Eccles lol She suits Maggie! :) x

Such a sweet little piggie am very happy for her thanks to you.

=O
i looked at her pic and was like "it's matilda!"
she looks so much like my old piggie it's uncanny, heh.

here's a pic to compare, i know it's not very good quality, but matilda's on the right with her sister tigger on the left (i've linked it due to filesize)

glad she's been given a good home!

She's a lovely looking piggy - a nice story to read and Maggie is a brill name - when I saw her markings I thought of Magpie......:)

What a sweet lady! I wish her lots of happiness!

Thanks guys! Helen aww she is stunning, I said to Jane you take in all the old girls! If she would have been younger then she could have done the trip up North.

I must admit she looks very lively for 5. I've explained to Emily that she is getting older and we don't know how long we will have her but just to enjoy her. :) x

a shes beautiful, how could someone just leave her and not look after her properly. Glad you rescued her and she is going to a nice home

Quick Update

Quick update on Maggie, She has gained weight in the very short time since I got her. The bath time revealed some 'unwanted visitors' (nits I think couldn't see anything running about, but the fur/hair rolleyes on her back was all cloggy and there they were, and in her little coronet too bless. Thought I would ask the vet's advice, so she has now been treated with Xenex spot on stuff, and looking good. Eating for England, popcorning in new hay, and pooped in my dressing gown pocket this morning! So tomorrow is her big day when she moves in with her new family (quarantined for a couple of weeks til fleebees all gone) then lots of new friends to play with. She is going with Nuttyless to live with Louise (Sunshine & Twinkle). I'm sure Lou will keep us updated on how she's doing. Thanks for everyones good wishes. x

I WANT HER!! She's so beautiful and looks a bit like my bethany
