yep I've got a new piggie, my boyfriend has bought me him as an early Valentines Present, I seen him in a pet shop about 3 days ago and he said if hes still there I can have him.

After losing Cookie a couple of weeks ago I said I'm not getting any more pets its too upsetting and my heart has ruled my head once again.

Hes adorable very handsome, black with long hair, hes quite timid at the moment but hes only 9 weeks and he is huge. Ive got him for biscuit who lost his brother as hes been running round his cage crying like hes looking for him. I just hope they settle in together ok.

Ive called him Romeo as hes a presant for Valentines day and the name suits him very well. I will post pics when he is more settled.:)

If you're worried about how they are getting on the boar behaviour sticky in the behaviour section is something I found really useful.

Can't wait to see pigtures!

I'm sure you've done the right thing. It's a tribute to the pets we've had before that they're such special creatures we can't live without them and want more. Hope you understand what I mean..not very good at wording things! :{
Looking forward to pictures. rolleyes

Thank you, Ive been told he hasnt used a water bottle yet as they only use bowls in the petshop, Ive put him a bowl down but they keep knocking it over cause there running about and getting to know each other, hes 9 weeks old, do you think he will know how to use the water bottle as while I'm in bed they are bound to knock it over and I'm worried he wont have any water to drink.

They work out water bottles pretty quickly so I shouldn't think it would be too much of a problem for him, he'll probably also see Biscuit using it and come to investigate. You could find a heavier bowl, put it in a tray so everything doesn't get soaked if they do tip it up and put it in the corner so it's harder to tip over. I'd give him the option of both until you see him drinking from the bottle and make sure they have plenty of veggies as these will also provide them with water. I wouldn't worry too much about it though. :)

Edit: Just thought if he's only 9 weeks and been in a pet shop may be best to get him used to veggies gradually unless you know he's been given them already.

Losing a piggy is tough, and it is often difficult to imagine going through all that pain again at the time...

Wishing you the best of luck with Romeo.

Here are some tips for introductions and dangerous boar behaviour. You also may find the videos and tips in Suzy's thread helpful for judging your boars' behaviour on introduction.
