Willy had been a pretty quiet and immobile pig but last night he started wheeking and just wouldn't quit! My four gathered in the part of the cage that's closest to him wondering what piggy in distress that was... So I decided they should get to hang out a little. Willy instantly transformed to an entirely different piggy! I hope this can prepare him for a life with a friend, and that my four get some fun out of it too :)

I've been really nervous, though, that an impossible escape could somehow happen and that he would get one of my girls pregnant... Even though the cage is escape proof, I still worry... How do you people with both intact males and sows keep your sanity?!

It was so cute... Late last night when it had calmed down a little, Willy was asleep, banana style with closed eyes, in the front of the cage. This is a pig who hasn't voluntarily left his hidey for 10 days, but now security was more in closeness to other pigs, not in a roof over his head. It almost made me cry it was so sweet. To think he's been denied piggy companionship since he was taken from his mum just kills me.

Aww such a sweet video! x)

Its lovely hearing them 'talk' to one another and Willy looks very happy. :) Hope he finds the right friend soon.

I don't keep them in the same area lol I would only stress all the time, I have enough as it is, without some more fluffy bundles because of course I would have to keep them all lol.

It's nice that he got to have a talk with some other piggies, he seemed like he was very into his chat with the ladies.

Strangely enough I worry about everything except that, I know it wouldn't happen!

Although I do sometimes worry someone may put my pigs in the wrong cages but that's highly unlikly as I'm the only person that looks after my pigs :))

Poor Willy!

He must think that Easter and Christmas has just fallen on the same day! x)

I am sure that he will simply ADORE a new friend!

Lovely Willy. Great to see him so interested in piggy going on. I'm sure he'll find a pal in no time at the rescue... and then on to a fantastic home. I feel like you've set him up for a happy ever after. Anyone else feeling all warm and gooey? :(|)

AWW Bless him.

I took in 2 year old today who has been on his own since he was the size of a hamster apparently (yet he still has half eaten ears?)

He's now got contact through the bars and it's a sight to behold.

Good work you!

Show us some photos, Lisa!

I'm so happy I put them within sight of eachother... I think it's enjoyable for my piggies too! Martha has actually groomed Bo, she never does that when it's just the 4 of them :)

I remember even after we'd neutered Tigger and waited the few weeks after being neutered (apparently it is a necessity), I put him back with Casey. All day for the next few weeks I would get home and obsessively examine Casey for any signs of pregnancy... lol, it was really stressful and that's even after he was no longer intact!
