I had to help Betty pig to Rainbow Bridge 3 weeks ago. She is the black and white Lunkarya in my avatar.
She was around 6 years old and such a sweet piggy.

Elsie is such a shy little girl and I knew she wouldn’t do well without her little pal.
I contacted 2 local rescues who couldn’t help at the time but my Daughter found a 2 year old girl on a selling page. So we picked her up a few days after losing Betty.

I always rescue but we were so desperate to get Elsie a friend that we had to do what was best for her.

So, please meet Gladys.C616B12B-8F6D-4472-AF34-B4FF2BECF651.webp

I’m so sorry you lost Betty, sleep tight beautiful little lady 🌈
hello Gladys, you are a cutie, so lovely Elsie has a new friend and Gladys has found love in her new home too x

Sorry for your loss of Betty 💕🌈 bit welcome Gladys I hope you will be very happy in your new home!

I am so sorry to hear you have lost beautiful Betty.
Gladys is beautiful too and is very lucky to have found a loving home.

Thank you everyone. I personally hate lining the pockets of a breeder, Gladys was a show piggy. But on this particular occasion I had to do what was best for Elsie, even though it totally goes against my beliefs.
However, Gladys now has a great home and will be well loved.

Hello and welcome to the lovely Gladys. I am so sorry that you lost Betty.

Please don’t feel judged or the need to explain yourself. As you know, I’m part of a wonderful rescue. And I would always advocating adopting where possible. But your own guinea pig’s welfare comes first. And during this topsy turvy year with so many restrictions and limited piggies for adoption you have do do what is best for your own piggies. You’ve put Elsie’s need for company first. And the lovely Gladys will no longer be used for breeding or showing and has a fabulous home. It’s all good x

I’m sorry you lost the beautiful Betty - poor Elsie so a new friend will be fab for her - welcome to the gorgeous Gladys !
Look after yourself as it’s so hard losing your special piggie - 🥰

Thank you so much for understanding. Yes, it’s all been made so much harder with the situation in the Country at the moment.

Yes, Gladys is now a very happy little girl! Xx

So sorry for your loss of Betty and good for you putting Elsie’s need for companionship first.
Sometimes we don’t have a choice and every pig deserves a loving home.
Gladys is beautiful and has clearly landed on her paws with you.
I hope the girls bond well and are very happy together
