image.webp image.webp I'm not really sure what people call these, maybe cuddle sacks? But I'm so excited that my piggies like them and they're so easy to make. I could probably easily make two in 20 minutes now that I've figured out good dimensions for them.

And I'm also excited bc I think I'm starting to get to a good cleaning routine. It turns out that putting the pigs into a separate box for ten minutes and removing the ramp from the beginning makes the whole thing so much easier. Also, keeping the hay completely in the loft helps. Phew!

They look great! What did you use for the layers in your snuggle sacks? And does the opening stay open easily?

I just used two layers of fleece. I thought about putting an absorbent layer in there, too, but figured it would be nice to have it dry fast. I'm in the process of making four more so I can swap them out a couple of times between guinea pig loads.

They seem to be staying open fine. I had been thinking of sewing zip ties into the opening edge, but I couldn't find my zip ties. I have a feeling, tho, that sewing in zip ties would be frustrating.

I made my pieces (2 inner and 2 outer) 11 x 17. I bet 11 x 15 would be fine, too, but deeper might seem cozier to them. They seem to like getting way into the back and far from the opening.

Ah that's very similar to how I made mine. Two layers of fleece without an absorbent layer in between. Yours seem to be staying open better than mine though!

Those look great and have the piggy seal of approval. Lovely to see your handiwork being enjoyed.

They seemed to be in them all night last night! It's funny how their opinion makes me feel proud of myself! lol

I also made a ton of absorbent pads for them. I've only had my piggies for about five weeks now, so I'm just figuring out what I need to keep on top of the cage. For the bottom, I use a heavy beach towel w a layer of small (approx 15 x 15 inches) microfiber towels over it and a layer of fleece laid over that. Then I put a pad on each end of the cage (15 x 30 inches) and one under their ramp. The ramp one is smaller (15 x 15"). I change the ramp pad daily and use it to collect all the poop on before I remove it.

That might be more than you needed to know about my cage! But I'm fascinated by other people's systems.

These are the pads and what they look like in my not recently cleaned cage:
