He's been in rescue since October last year, he will never be homed to protect him from being bred from.

Lots of people love Skinnies, but the truth is they were bred in the labs to be used as 'Guinea Pigs'. I think it is a crime against nature to deprive an animal of fur.

Meet Baldric!

He wouldn't choose to be this ugly or Bald for a better word :))!

He appeared on this thread briefly, the rescue was then inundated with people wishing to offer him a home.

The only offer of a permanent placement that had no connection to breeding was Glynneath Guinea Pig Rescue. He now lives his life out in rescue being utterly spoiled and protected. Sadly his brother passed last year but he now has a hairy friend! Who was Sorrel's baby boy!

I love a happy ending! xx

he's cute but I'm the same as you and prefer my pigs with lots of hair :-)

He is cute - what a lovely nose! But I also maintain guinea pigs were supposed to have hair! ;)

Bald piggies, hairless rats, scale-less snakes they'll be trying for shell-less tortoises soon!

It's disgusting! grrrr grrrr

I rehomed two young bald rats who appeared to be in perfect health apart from the no hair bit of course, within 4 weeks they had died and I know I was caring for them properly as they got the the same as all my other rats apart from a little more bedding for warmth. So their death had to be something to do with genetic abnormalities.

It isn't normal and definately not as nature intended, and completely irresponsible to purposely breed these animals not knowing the internal genetic consequences of such a visual abnormality.

[sorry rant over]

ooooooooooooooh do you think whee could have updates every so often of Baldric? drool what a gorgeous face xoxoxoxoxoxo (maybe he could flash his lippies for me x))
enjoy your life at GGPR little man xx>>>xx>>>

Aww I find skinny pigs both extremely ugly at times yet incredibly cute! I guess when I see them I feel a bit sorry for them as they have been specifically bred to be hairless, it's not something that would naturally occur. To me a guinea pig is lovely no matter the breed or colouring, they shouldn't be bred to be a certain way to please us
