My baby died today and it's just really getting to me. It was so sudden. I was certain Daisy was going to go first because Hazel was in better condition than her. Can someone just talk to me and make me feel better?

It’s heartbreaking losing one of our furry family members. It’s true grief. They take a piece of your heart with you. Take time to grieve.

Sorry there was no one online to talk to you when you needed it. The vast majority of members are UK based and your post was 3am our time so most of us were tucked up in our beds.

I'm really sorry for your loss. It's always a shock when a seemingly fine and strong piggy slips away unexpectedly. I had this with Jemima who hadn't shown any sign of illness whereas her cagemate had an array of conditions for the past 18 months. One evening I went to do their veg and she was in her bed under a pile of hay in her forever sleep.

The loss of a beloved pet is as difficult as any bereavement and you need to be kind to yourself while you grieve. Missing them, feeling low, crying, etc are all normal grieving processes that you will go through.

It's ok. I know it was late but I couldn't sleep because I was not and upset.

I am so sorry to hear your sad news. Piggies do leave a big hole in our hearts when they leave us. Sending you hugs.
