Recently I've noticed that one of my girlies waistline has expanded slightly. She's always been a big girl but now I feel she's becoming over weight. I don't know how to go about cutting down her food as I don't want to have to take the food bowl out cause she lives with 3 others, including a 12 week old piglet. I've started giving her veg seperate (her and another greedy guts on one level) and the baby and my other pig on the bottom) They have floor time everyday but I'm sure theres always room for more exercise. When the nicer weather comes they will be straight out in the run everyday but I don't want her to get any bigger :( Any suggestions would be great, anyone had similar experiences?

Thanks :(|)

She was a resuce, but I'd say about 18months. She came with another one of the same age, who is quite a lot thinner (but not skinny) hmmmm

I have the same problem. I slightley over weight one and a slightly underweight one. (And of course the pefect shaped one!)

Maybe try cutting down on things such as carrots and pellets but feed them to the smaller one seperatly.

Weight gain/loss is normal as long as it's not to much! Guinea pigs chew food in different ways as well so like us, some are naturally larger than others.

Yeah i heard carrots are quite fattening, but so yummy! :)
I have another who is the perfect size too haha, I think I will try and feed seperatly, It might be a bit harder with the pellets though cause I'll worry about the baby not getting enough. She's still quite shy as she's only been here 2 days so only comes out to eat when I'm not there, or thinks I'm not looking :(|) Like I said I do now split them up for veggies and they all have the same so I'm a bit curious as to why she's such a heffa lump. Maybe she's just big boned ;)

I just weighed her now, which wasn't easy on such tiny old fashioned scales... and i got the reading 94? hmmm
