Anyone have any advice on runs? I have a lovely back garden and the weather is gorgeous so I'm wanting to get a run for Sid but I don't have a clue where to get one or wht kind to get.

Any advice? :)

Thanks in advance.... :D

It depends on what you want it for - if you want something to put Sid out in, when you are there for just a couple of hours then something that folds away would work. I have heard people say that things like this work well...

Problem is, it is not very secure so you would have to stay and supervise Sid. Big benefit is it folds away and takes up little room. The grids that people use for C&C cages are also excellent for providing a bit of supervised grazing time outside.

If you want something that you can leave Sid in whilst you are not directly supervising then a whole load of other things need to be considered - to ensure Sid can not get out, nothing else can get in and has to make sure it is big enough to provide shelter against the rain/sun etc. This is my run

It does fold but is still quite heavy. It is fox proof, has a lid etc. I don't leave my piggys unattended for long periods of time - I wouldn't go out and leave them out - but this run is secure enough that I am happy to keep an eye on them from the house rather than staying in the garden with them the whole time. I am very lucky in that my house is rarely empty so even if I need to pop out, my Mum will watch the piggys for me so they are never unsupervised.

Unless you have or can get hold of some grids. My lot are in in a grid run, that I can separate and make bigger when needed. O0

I have a C&C cage indoors but I'm not sure I could use it outdoors. The roof isn't supported very well but indoors I don't need one.

I don't have a roof on mine, but piggies are always supervised :)

Ah... mine wouldn't be supervised all the time, although I wouldn't leave them out if I wasn't at home.

When I picked up Buffy they had a massive dog run. In it had a mum with babies and then 2 more cages underneath with a boar in each. The rest of them had the rest to run in. They are very expensive but I think my dad loves the idea for our rabbit. If you did get one it's alway an excuse to get more just to fill it up!

Thanks for the comments people :) :)

It's just for Sid to be in the garden for an hour or so, totally supervised, maybe I could sunbathe or something 8) :D

Thanksyou very much everyone O0 I now know what I'm looking for! Gonna go to some local pet shops tomorrow see if they have anything! :)
