I need advice on guinea pig groups

Hi I’m new to the guinea pig world but I seem to be doing a good job with teddy and bear my 9 month year old piggies. However I would like a whole tribe of guinea pigs because they are pretty amazing animals. But the only problem is I don’t know how groups would work with the dynamic teddy and bear already have I need some advice please!

If your piggies are boys then I am afraid it is not possible to add any more piggies to them. You can only keep boys in pairs. Any other piggies you have, will need to be kept in separate cages. Adding any more pigs to a pair of boys will result in fights. Equally, adding any females in a room where boys are kept can also cause fights between the boys as they will smell girls and fight over them potentially destroying their bond.

The guides below give information on what works and what doesn’t. Ultimately though, it comes down to character compatibility and mutual acceptance and liking. You can’t just put piggies together and expect them to get on.
