Hi! So, my girls and boy are in the same cage they have a divider because they don't get along. I have a towel ziptied to the divider so they can't see each other, but they're tearing up the towel. They won't stop. What should I do?

Firstly how long have you had these piggies!?
How many piggies do you have?
Are they neutered males if you have tried them together?
If they aren’t neutered the hormones from male and female piggies will be causing a lot of flare ups between them.
How big is your cage?
So many questions before we can help you!

If you have a c&c cage you could use plexiglass also if you don’t want them having contact also you could try using fleece instead of a towel

Hi! How long have they been side by side? The first few days can be dramatic before they settle down as neighbours, even more so when one of the sows is coming into season.
After that it generally settles largely down apart from the odd strong season. A single boar does not need an opaque firm divider as they haven't got anybody to fall out with.

They've been side by side for about a month or two now.

I've had the piggies for about a year now.
The male I separated from the girls is already neutered.
The cage is a 2x5 c&c, but my cubes are 14x14 inches. Quite a bit bigger than regular cubes, which are 12x12 inches. The girls are now In a 2x3 and my boar is in a 2x2. It sounds small, but my cubes being bigger makes a big difference.

If it doesn't calm down, then I would consider a firmer divider if he is doing it all the time. Poor boy, he is desperate for company but has no idea how to go about it.

Still trying to clarify in my mind what you mean when saying they don’t get on?
Usually a neutered male will settle fine with two sows. Did he interact with them before you separated them and were you worried about how he was approaching the sows or vice versa? Obviously at first they will chatter at each other and he will try mounting them until told off! They will chase each other around too until they decide who has dominance! My two Husboar are kept firmly in place by their group of girls!

first of all, I am NOT expert in bonding stubborn piggies together and I lived a nightmare before Christmas when I adopted a neutered male who was supposed to become my girls' husband! One of the girl accepted him, but the other girl did NOT and they made a mess together, biting and provoking each other! there was blood, too. I had to separate them again, but the peace did not come as well, because the two criminals had a score to settle and managed to remove all the barriers, passing through and behind.
I followed all the rules, but nothing worked. Anyway I had the necessity to bond them, my male piggie was given to me for giving him the company of the sows. I changed the rules and I started acting differently. I removed all the barriers, the tunnels and all the places where they used to chase each others and I sit there in the middle of the room (no cage, they were sharing a whole room) with some towels in hand. Everytime they started biting or even screaming too loudly or teethchattering I (gently) trew the towel on both of them or I screamt aloud.
The trick worked and some days later they could live together. Now they get along quite well, I mean: the boy is still scared of the girl and never walks relaxed next to her; she sometimes sprays wee on his face. But in the late evening they explore together the house and once he was able to mount her.
My suggestion for you is to try again, maybe with one girl at a time and when she is in heat (and will literally offer her body to the boy! at least this is what happened here... the girl was in heat and showed her intimate parts to him, that was the end of the war!)

I really wish he could be with other piggies. I've had his with my other two boys.. He just doesn't get along. :(

They were together for almost a year. They started fighting just recently, I don't know why.

3 boars rarely get along anyway, so it's nothing to with him you'll be glad to hear :)

How many girls have you got? As asked above, how do you mean fighting? I have 4 girls and 1 neutered boy, although he's quite frisky sometimes and chased the girls, blood is never drawn. Is that similar to your experience?

2 girls, and 3 boys. Blood had never been drawn, but the chasing, rumble strutting, chittering, mounting, etc, has gotten so severe that the girls can't even relax without a boy annoying them.

Sadly that's boys for you! So are/were they all together? Having lots of boys with the girls can sometimes cause problems. However my neutered boy won't leave the girls alone when they're in season so it's a very normal thing.

Personally, I wouldn't separate unless it's stopping them eating or causing weight loss (I would weigh them every other day or something to test this) or of course if they draw blood.

Boys generally bother the girls, sometimes there's little rest but it should die down.

Only the one boy was with the girls. The other boys aren't neutered, but I had to separate them because they drew blood.

Are the other boars kept near the sows and their neutered boar?
This could be causing him to try mounting them all the time so that, in his mind they are his females and not the others. Could all be a competitive problem!

Ah okay! It might be worth trying your neutered boy with the girls again in a neutral setting and just keep an eye on them weight wise. To be honest the mounting itself isn't an issue it's just if they're not eating and such I guess would be the problem?

My boy is with his 4 wives and he's always having a rumble especially if a girl is in season which happens a lot with more girls :))

It's hard to say with out seeing the behaviour myself but I'd probably try reintroducing them, as mentioned above he may also be a bit possessive if the other boys live near by.
