I need help fast!

I am a first time guinea owner. Well, i went to the vet yesterday and got her abscess drained. The vet gave me Baytril to give to her twice a day. I looked this morning and she had another lump in the exact place she had it yesterday, but it is much bigger and seems to cause her more pain then she had before getting it drained. She squealed when i was trying to take her out this morning louder than i have ever heard her do. She sits in the corner and just stares at the wall. She is in so much pain it is hard for her to eat and even move. Please if you have any suggestions please tell me. What could have cause this and how can I get this taken care of?

@Skypipdot is a bit terse, but right too. Only a vet can do what is needed to cure both the pain and the abscess.
I'm no expert, but I'm not sure that draining is sufficient for an abscess. Often surgery is needed to remove it properly. Also, Baytril isn't generally strong enough to get on top of the infection causing the abscess, Azithromycin (Zithromax) is better for that. Hope you can get your piggy better soon

It's ok, I just spend so much time arguing with my teenagers that I can't suggest anything without including the whys and wherefores! Any reply is better than none, it shows you care.
I'm guessing the OP @guineapiglovr is the the US, hopefully s/he will be able to get the piggie to the vet before the end of the day for some pain relief if nothing else

So sorry to hear your piggy is in pain. If they are not eating you need to step in with syringe feeding but they definitely need pain relief too. Is your vet particularly knowledgeable with piggies? If you give us a rough location perhaps we can point you in the right direction for a good vet to get on top of this

Yes it is and my father checked it last night and he dosen't think it is an abscess. He thinks it is a cyst.

Also, would it be a bad idea for me to just squeeze the cyst out myself by numbing her and making a little incision, or should i just take her to the vet?

A cyst is unlikely to have refilled so quickly, but an abscess would. Does it smell awful? You can't miss the smell of an abscess. If it's an abscess it needs to be kept open, so that it can be flushed a couple of times a day and it will then heal from the inside, outwards. Please see a vet asap.

I wouldn't be doing a diy job on a piggie! They are very delicate animals. Your piggie needs to see a vet.

Please do not do a diy job on your piggy, it is not safe especially if you don't know what you are dealing with. You could make your piggy very ill.

Please don't try to drain a cyst or abscess on your own. It will hurt the pig without any kind of numbing and you won't be able to do it under sterile conditions, which could just open the door to further bacterial contamination and more infection/abscess. It's not uncommon for abscesses to refill quickly once they are drained... the infection is still there, keeps producing pus, and the capsule keeps on refilling. They need to be kept open and cleaned, as well as antibiotic treatment. Baytril is a common antibiotic given to guinea pigs, but may not be the best treatment for abscesses and the bacteria which cause them. Unfortunately, another vet visit is in order here.
