I Need Help

Hi,

The boys are jumping around and one is rumbling at the other. They are chasing each other a bit.

This has been going on for quite a while.

Do I seperate them? Help what do I do?

This is just them dominating. Did you read the threads on boar behaviour?

Doesn't sound like you need to separate them just yet to me. Have a read of this thread which helps you to know when you should intervene and when to let them sort it out themselves.

Yes, I just got a bit worried as I didn't know how long this behaviour should go on for

With my lot the boar chases the sows everyday! You have not had yours very long so it will take them time to establish who is dominant.

Hi Emily,

How old are your boys? Are they arguing over anything in particular? We always recommend 2 hidey houses, 2 food bowls etc for boars & at least a 120cm cage. We don't suggest separating them unless there is blood drawn. I agree it's really useful to look at the boar behaviour threads to see what is normal dominance behaviour, guineas can be pretty physical to one another in terms of getting their message across!

They are 8 weeks old and they have all of the above

In that case I expect they are just being little monkeys & having fun . Piggies are good at worrying us about stuff though!

8 weeks old is a lovely time, I'm sure you're having a great time with your boys xx
