I need help

I bought two guinea pigs three months ago from a petshop. I found out that one was a male and one a female, but I kept them both anyway.. Last night she gave birth to three pups, and i separated him. The problem is I don’t have the money or conditions to keep him away.. I improvised a cage but he’s not comfortable in it.. He keeps on chewing it and trying to get out. I let him out a lot, but when I put him back in it starts again.. Should I give him?I don’t really want to do that, I love them both a lot.

If you don't have the space or money to keep four pigs in two cages (as both the male and female will still need a companion) then you will have to give one up to a rescue and get another. So if you keep the female get another female and if you keep the male get another male. It's your only option if you really can't have 4 pigs in 2 cages.

1) Rehome him - the cheapest option
2) have him neutered and then he can move back in with your girl
3) Keep him separate but save up to get him a friend and to expand his cage.

I understand how attached you are but it's what is best for your boar that you need to think of.

Rehoming him won’t make any of them feel anxious or something? they grew up together, and I was wondering if separating them and having to live with another pig won’t lead to sadness or something.

@Miaa24 No. If you surrender him to a rescue then they will bond him with a new friend and then find them both a lovely forever home.
