I am stuck on second names for the boys! I am adopting the divine Elijah and Errol from Sophie.

Normally I change the names of adopted pigs. (Put it this way, my herd would contain Pistachio, Pops, Rodney, Peanut and Daisy if I didn't!)
However, I love the names Elijah and Errol and am more than happy to keep their first names as that. In any case, I hadn't got any E names and now I have two! What is even better is that it runs alphabetically with my other boys: Dexter, Elijah, Errol, Franklyn. See, it's fate, I was meant to get these chaps! :))

Anyhow, back to my point, I don't know what second names to give them. I do have a theme going for my current lot - types of apples for the boys. I have a Franklyn and a (Dexter) Pippin so would like to try and keep to apple names for Elijah and Errol, but not fussed if I don't stick with the theme.

Of course any sensible suggestions, apple or not, are welcome - and I've already had Errol Flynn so no need to mention that one!

Here are the types of apples grown in my neck of the woods.... Cortland, Russet, McIntosh, Jonagold, Crispin, Idared and Honeycrisp.

Honeycrisp seems to fit Elijah and Errol's beautiful colouring!

right, apples...

washington red delicious
pink lady
granny smith
golden delicious
russet
cox
braeburn
royal gala

will get more as i think of them!

So far liking Russet, McIntosh and Braeburn. It is hard to get a normal-sounding name with an unusual topic but there are certainly a few. Franklyn was named as such as we'd been thinking it might suit him for a few days, and then not one, but two trucks full of Franklin apples went by..well we took that as a sign!

I admit to being tempted by Errol Flynn but I just couldn't do it. :))

Bramley, Boskoop, Royal Gala, Golden Delicious, Empire

i do think the russet or braeburn is lovely as a second name x)x)x) and would suit them both xxxxxxxxx

te he if he was named Errol Flynn do you think he'd live up to his name rolleyes:))

I like Bramley, it is one that has been at the back of my mind but I never tried putting it to either name. You know the more I think about it the more I think I like Elijah Braeburn and Errol Bramley. Need to find some more apple names to see if there is anything that works better, but I do like those so far.

Thanks for all your help!

Just found a few more I like:
Ambrosia, Gavin, Ruben, Winston

Now I'm thinking Elijah Ruben and Errol Winston. We are getting there!

I know someone who names her piggies "Pigglesworth" or ... hmm.. one that I thought was just plain hilarious...

Personally, I like Braeburn and Bramley better - it sounds more apply and unusual, if you get my meaning!

I do know what you mean, I just don't want to go too far with it...I'm having trouble deciding where to settle on it! With my other boys, their "apple" names are pretty subtle - Franklyn is a normal name but fits the apple theme, Pippin is a bit more out there but is fairly 'common' and fits the apple theme.

I can get away with more with it being their second names...I'm just very picky. :))
