I just saw an incredibly upsetting video of a guinea pig in a tiny, tiny, tiny cage (it could hardly move) I won't link publicly, it's so upsetting, made my sister cry. I'm just hoping it's a joke, it's so sad.

It was tiny, a pile of poops and a flannelly towel thing and that was it. I also saw wee. Ugh, the description was that he locked his piggy up for being noisy. I know it was 6 years ago, but what a horrible thing, even if it was a joke. I'm just glad that so many pigs on here are pampered.

I saw a similar situation in the background on a Super Nanny episode.
It was filmed years ago but I still have nightmares about the poor guinea pig.
It is awful, but we can still do the best we can for our own pigs, and set a good example and offer gentle support to others.

It is horrible. I sort of want to bombard myself with happy pigtures. I like to think everyone on this forum has happy spoilt piggies.
Awareness, I think, is being spread. #AdoptDontShop, a hutch is not enough, etc.
I still feel bad for getting our boys from a pet shop, but I don't know how close the nearest rescue is (I checked the locator, didn't seem that near) and when I heard that a nearby garden centre had piggies, I sort of forgot and just was desperate for them.
But, anyway, so many members on here, lots of people are learning. We started with a rather small cage, paper bedding that didn't look comfortable, now we have a huge cage with fleece that I'm jealous of. I think looking after our pigs makes me feel better knowing there are teo more happy animals in the world.
