I only went to the pet shop to get hay, and came out with this little Abysinnian sow. I'm sure I'm not the first to do this? Anyone else guilty? ")

I really think i need to start doing more shopping online.

Here she is, tricolour, with some beautiful chocolate agouti in the mix. I'm guessing shes about 12weeks old. Shes in need of a name too. :)

Oh my gosh she's beautiful! Congratulations on your new little one and I am so glad she is bonding in nicely, your other piggies are beautiful as well! Great pictures!

Oh she is lovely, she looks like a Fifi to me lol!
Can I just say, and not to be awful or try to put a dampner on things, but should you not quarantine any new piggies before introducing them to exisiting pigs? Its more a question than a criticism xx

Good question - with my most recent addition - i quarantined her before introducing her to my lovely Wexford, and it's lucky i did because 4 days later i noticed several patches of fungal on her!

She was actually kept in a separate room for a little over 7wks - could you imagine the chaos i'd have faced had i not kept her completely separate from my other 7 piggies - i'd have been attempting to treat fungal infections in 8 pigs as opposed to 1 single pig.

If the pigs haven't come from a reputable rescue then quarantine is a must - 2wks being the absolute minimum. Most illnesses will show themselves one way or another within the first 2-3wks - better to treat a single pig than a whole herd ;)
