So...... after my post last night, lets rewind.... Saturday all well and good, Sunday night chocolate had diorreah and I posted here, took advice and refrained from veg and pellets sunday night, got up this morning and although no more signs of diorreah chocolate was clearly not himself as he didn't move away when I picked him up, I rang the vet and got an appointment for 12.15 lunchtime, at 9.30am when I went back to check him he had died. To say I am gutted would be an understatement and I am running though everything and questioning myself, from my introduction post you will know that up until a few days ago they lived in a hutch outdoors and I decided to get a C&C cage and bring them indoors, I'm asking myself would he be alive if I had left him outdoors in a hutch, was it the introduction of a baby, even though I followed the quarantine guidelines.. To be honest I have had knots in my stomach all day, ive got a headache and feel quite sick, it hurts a lot more than you realize, he was only 5 months old, as my title says I don't understand

I'm so sorry to hear this. Please don't blame yourself , it sound like you did everything you could .

ahh i am so sorry for your loss... please don't blame yourself xx

I'm so sorry, please don't blame yourself, it sounds like it was an illness that struck out of the blue and very quickly.

I cant really believe how quick, less than 24 hours, not even the time to get to the vet, its surreal really. I'm searching for answers in my head but I don't think I will ever find them!

Please don't blame yourself, totally not your fault. I suspect this would have happened outside also.. Sounds like something that has happened straight out of the blue as Helen said. It wont have been the baby introduction of a baby at all.

The what if's are natural and are an awful part of grief. You couldn't have done anything I am sure of that

I am so very sorry. Massive hugs to you x x

Sleep well little one
RIP Chocolate
x x

Once again so sorry to hear of your loss.

Please don't blame yourself. As we all know sometimes our loved ones are called to the rainbow bridge sooner than we would like.

He will always have a special place in your heart. :luv:

Popcorn free now Chocolate xx

I'm so sorry for your loss. Please don't blame yourself. It's natural, that we all wonder what we could have done differently, but please don't torture yourself with what ifs. Popcorn free little one x

I'm sorry for your loss.. Unfortunately piggies are great at hiding an illness until it's too late. Don't blame yourself as its nothing you did. Rip little one xx

That's very sad to hear, I'm so sorry for your loss. :( Unfortunately I haven't got any ideas either. I hope you're okay. RIP. x

Awww bless. Glad the boys are okay, still so very sorry for your loss. :( RIP. x

Sorry for your sudden loss. I would only ditto what other folk have said in their posts. It is the same as the loss of other pets......if only they could talk and tell us what is wrong. Don't beat yourself up, I know it is hard as an owner we just want everything to be perfect! Looking after animals of any size comes with Ups and Downs and we have to make the most of the Ups and brace ourselves for the Downs. Hoping you will feel better in time and take care xx

I'm so sorry. Pigs do so well at hiding illness. The last pig I lost was fine the night previous, seemed subdued and not herself in the morning, and passed in the evening, despite a vet visit that didn't pick up anything really specific. It was a huge shock, as I'm sure it is for you too. ((HUGS)) to you.

Oh no sorry for the loss of Chocolate. Piggies do hide illnesses very well. There is nothing you could have done differently. Sending big hugs x
