Senior Guinea Pig
I caved in and bought the pigs 22kg of Oxbow Orchard Grass hay, which arrived yesterday...
I think they like it. Lets see how long it lasts 10 pigs! It's a fantastic price when bought in bulk, barely any more expensive than the crappy small bags I have been buying before now. I paid £65 for 22kg of the most wonderful looking, smelling and feeling hay I've known!
I suspect the box won't last long if they keep eating it at the rate they are though, everybody loves the stuff:
I also stocked up on lots of things I have wanted to buy them for ages, and also bought a few goodies for Jasmine's birthday. Just in the past week, the pigs have had these lovely things bestowed on them:
- 2 new friends! (Well, neighbours);
- Extended cage, with new fleece and lovely big hay trays;
- 22kg Oxbow hay;
- Conficlean concentrate, and spray bottle, to make up my own disinfectant (LOTS cheaper than buying the Ready to Use sprays); Snugglesafe heatpad (at last!); Critical Care Fine Grind; Oxbow GTN-50C vitamin C tablets.
- Flaked peas and flaked beetroot for Jasmine's birthday.
- New bowls, water bottles;
- Grooming scissors and brush for Delilah and Sophia, and nail clippers.
I also bought some Vinyl gloves for me and managed to clean Franklyn's bum (impaction) within 10 seconds! No more messing about with cotton buds as there's no worrying about getting the stink all over my fingers and under my nails.
They will not be getting anything more anytime soon! Most of it is essential, like the things to add to the first aid box, stocking up of necessities for coming months etc. Only a few of the goodies are treats! It all came cheap too, for that amount of stuff.
Would you believe they still hate me? That might have something to do with the baths most of them had last night though...
