Please send some healing vibes for Treacle, we're going through a tough patch and i'm fighting to keep her eating. She's started to spit out the recovery feed and fibreplex, i'm considering having her pts, as I don't think this is fair on her any more :( I'm in tears writing this.

I am thinking of you and Treacle - please get better little pig!
We are all here for you

Oh no. I went through this too and lost Gilbert. I hate to see someone else is going through the same thing. I really hope your outcome is better than mine. My thoughts are with you *huggles tightly*

She's gone :( I took her to the emergency vet and we decided that it was definitely age related. She was 6 and a half, and until 2 weeks ago, was a happy piggy, running and playing with the others. It was really not worth stressing her out any more, she wasn't happy, she'd started to shut down. I don't want to remember her as skin and bone, I want to remember her as a well and happy pig.
Keeping her going, would have been for my sake not hers, and I made a very tough decision. It was so hard, I nearly brought her home to keep force feeding her, but she has to come first in the end, not me, I'm now sat here crying my eyes out, wishing she was still here.

God I'm so sorry. I know exactly how you feel having experienced this just yesterday and still crying today over it.

It's really hard isn't it? I was feeding Gilbert critical care too but he started pushing it out of his mouth too and I knew it was time, despite my heart wishing I could just make him better.

I'm so sorry you no longer have her. *huggles*
If you need to talk feel free to message me as I'm still grieving too and so can definitely relate.

I feel so torn at the moment. Just flushed her CC down the sink, and put her sick bed away. I think i'm going to go and cuddle her sisters, as they've been pretty subdued today too, I think they knew :( They've barely left her side all week.

I am really sorry. You have fought so hard for her.

It is such a hard choice to make and I know it doesn't help you feel better at the moment but you put her first and made the most slefless decision that we can - to help them the most when they need us to be strong for them. You made the bravest choice for beautiful Treacle. Massive hugs to you x

Sleep well pretty girl

RIP Treacle

I am so very sorry for your loss of Treacle :(

My Eliza is also 6.5 years old. Despite recently having an eye removed, still having problems with it and losing all her friends last year and having to be accepted by new friends, she is very happy and healthy.

However, I have already made the decision that if she shows signs of seriousness illness etc, I Will let her go rather than fight to keep her here.

Eliza has already been through so much that I just want her to live a happy life and if she ever starts to go downhill, I will let nature take its cause.

However hard it is, you made the right decision and put her needs before your own (((hugs))) xx

Always remember that when you ended Treacle-pig's suffering you did an incredibly kind and respectful act for her.
She will always live on in your memories of her as a happy piggy.
I'm so sorry this has happened to you and your family.

I'm really sorry for your loss & know how you feel as I too have lost a dear piggy this week. R.I.P. Treacle. xx

I'm really sorry, you made the right and kindest decision for her though. Night night Treacle.

HUGS

It is always gutting when you have to make that decision as the kindest thing you can do for a beloved piggy! I had my 6 year old Bryn pts last September when a nasty throat infection developed too quickly for his meds to kick in and eventually he could no longer get anything down his gullet. :(

You've given Treacle a happy, long life and you have not failed her. Please keep that in mind, even through the current turmoil of feelings you are experiencing.
