I Think Bumble Will Lose A Wife Tonight

Waiting for the vet to ring - Bumblebea his wife stopped eating last night despite me trying to syringe feed her and was taken to the emergency vets with her sister - she has gas on her left side that despite being given all the meds hasn't dissipated just moved to the ileum - vet says there should have been some improvement by now,so it's not looking good - she is going to pop a needle in to see if she can aspirate to relieve the gas as she deserves a chance - but there has been no urine output at all today and 1 solitary poop - so when vet rings in a minute if the aspiration has not worked I will ask the vet to put her sister in with her for a little while so her sister can groom her and say goodbye,as her sister is always grooming her - then I will have to see if her sister will carry on without her or or follow her to the bridge as they are so tightly bonded,or if she will stay for Bumble- I have been worrying myself for the last few months that they would start to pass,even more so as my daughter starts to sit her A level exams on Tuesday and I have been worrying about her sitting in an exam hall in floods of tears.
 
Night nurse has just called - the gas apparently came out quite nicely and she now seems quite comfortable but she is on close obs to see if the abdomen starts to re fill with gas- so they will ring me in the morning - so now have to go and medicate all my remaining pigs with Baytril and metacam - they are now all old and creaky.

Really sorry to hear bumblebea has this gas problem & has had to have it aspirated, how is bumblebea doing now?
 
Just had the phone call - she passed a little while ago - the nurse sat with her for her last hour and she was very peaceful - vet was glad she aspirated the gas as it made her much more comfortable but there was obviously an underlying cause - have now got to go and collect her and her friend - who I now worry will refuse to eat like Noodles did when Nuggets died and followed her to the bridge the next day.Bumble has been calling for them both since they have been gone - Just had to tell daughter who has A level exams tomorrow and Tuesday.
 
Oh I'm so sorry, big hugs to you and your family :( At least she was a little more comfortable and had her friend with her at the end.

So sorry, hopefully her friend will stay around for Bumble. I know when Pebbles past Wilma dealt with it very well and is still here despite her sister passing a year and a half ago, as she still has Fred.

I have just buried her in the garden in a lovely terracotta pot with a red rose bush in - she is next to Nuggets and Noodles - so I now have 3 matching pots in the garden in the sunshine .
I have had a lovely rainbow coloured scarf with threads of silver shot through it for many years - so I have have cut it into 3 and she is wrapped in the first piece and the others are saved for when Bumble and her sister pass,which I know deep down won't be very long because of their ages and Bumbles ability to make a bladder stone within 10 days despite being on specialist meds and a low calcium diet - just seemed fitting that she should go to rainbow bridge wrapped in rainbow colours.
Bumble went straight to her and groomed her face and then tried to make her get up,heartbreaking to see the confusion on his little face and then the acceptance - her sister was in the pen with her at the vets when she passed and has accepted very quickly - every one is munching away,proving that life goes on - thank you all for your kind words.xx

So sorry to hear about Bumblebea, Bumbles wife - really sad. Her resting place sounds lovely.
I hope that Bumble and his other wife defy your expectations and keep going - you never can tell with piggies.
