So i have noticed lately that dot has been sitting mostly in her hidey house, shes still keen on demolishing her veg and does come out to eat hay a bit. What makes me think shes depressed if because shes on her own and if i play guinea pig noises on youtube she will shoot out and start wheeking back.

I have been doing split fence floor time with both dot and burnie and when dot is out and she can see burnie, she comes alive and starts popcorning and zoomying around.

I am pairing them up asap when burnie has been neutered and past the 6 week post op wait.

One thing i have noticed with single guinea pigs is they seem fine when they are young and getting to know different things, but when they get to adult stages they dont cope well alone at all. Cant wait to end this soon

Could you please keep Dot and Burnie next to each other with interaction and mutual stimulation through the bars? that should prevent depression and also increases your chances of acceptance and a much smoother bonding.

They are. But because the sides of the base are high it doesnt always work, it only seems to work when she can see burnie on his roof of hidey. Do you think I'm right thinking shes depressed, burnie is a bit like it too, but because hes younger he seems to have playfulness on his side. What a mess itl will be sorted very soon. Just hate to see it

Her bladder problem still bugs her a bit, shes stops now and then and strains to poop. But shes fine other than that. Shes been xray and a lump was found in her bladder. Just hope she doesnt die young. Somehow the bladder problem affects the pooing. Dont know how

I love giving the floor time, but i keep having to alternate dot and burnie, which means the scent of both pigs is there. Could be a good thing but i dont really know, they live next door anyway

That will be a great Christmas present for them both.
Hope the op goes well
Yea thats what i thought. They live with us at the mother in laws over xmas so i think it would be better for them together, as young burnies nieve confidence brings out some in dot
