I Think I Need Bigger Scales

He is sooo sweet! And very heavy! I see loads of pigtures of other pigs, but how are they soooo chunky? I am wondering if my pigs are normal.. they are around 2 years old and basically weigh around 600g each... so not the biggest. Are there some breads that grow bigger than others?

Yes my smallest piggy is 850g and Arthurs my heaviest at 1150g they are around 2-3 yrs old too. They live together and have the same diet and the smaller one often steals the bigger ones food. As long as they are healthy and getting everything they need they should be fine even if they are small. I think between 700g and 1.5kg is the healthy weight range but I'm sure someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes I mean they have a bowl of dry food always available, lots of hay, good amount of vegetables daily, so I am sure they have enough food, we have only just started weighing them so I will see how it goes over time :D Also they are both quite active, they basically run around the cage up and down the ramp, so I have to say they are not sedentary.. :P

Ha ha! I have a big beige lump who is just like that. Weighing Harris is difficult because he doesn't fit on the scales.... We sometimes put him on the same scales we weigh us with and he is heavy enough to register but it doesn't give you enough accuracy to keep an eye on his weight really :)

Hugs to your big boy. Sometimes piggies are small (like my dinky Donald who was only 900g) and some are not so little like Harris who is around 1500g. He's not fat, he's just one big pig :) They come in all shapes and sizes and some breeds tend to get larger than others. My current gang vary between 1kg, 1180g and 1500g :)
