I think I need to go back to Harringtons nuggets

Have realised over the past few days, that Bernie isn't eating science selective grain free anymore, but Dot is hoovering them up still, which means he's getting zero whilst she's getting 2 tablespoons per night. Do I change to Harringtons? I don't know whether to with dots intertestial cystitis hanging about 🤔. Feeding them seperatly isn't something I want to be hassled with

If Harrington’s are going to upset dot’s body, then I wouldn’t blanket change them as her health is more important than him getting pellets. Pellets aren’t really essential if they get lots of hay and a good variety of veggies to give them the vitamins and minerals.
I know you say you don’t want to feed separately (and I don’t blame you), but perhaps an alternative is to handfeed him a few Harrington’s pellets so he is having some?

Mine love Harrington’s. To compensate us pets at home gave us like a massive bag of their nuggets that have rosemary and something else in it but I’m not sure if they’ll like it. They sold science selective but we chose pets at home as they must have had them when they were there

You can transfer them to a different pellet gradually if you ever want to

I probably won’t stick to the pets at home one, but just mix it in with their original one
My rats were on pets at home nuggets, I switched them slowly over to science. Just because with rats you want a low protein one, and science we're lower by 2g lol

I slowly changed to grain free abouth 8 weeks ago and thought all the piggies were eating them However, over a month George (one of a trio) slowly lost almost 100g in weight and Peggy gained about the same. I then realized that George doesn't like the new nuggets and Peggy had obviously been getting more than her share.
Changed back to Harrington's and George is regaining the weight he lost.

I always wonder about this, changing to another pellet.
Both my Finn and Lara love the Oxbow pellets, which they have been eating since the beginning. However, I saw online there is something that has variety of dried fruits and veggies inside the pellet, so I have been thinking whether I should try that.
I like variety for my piggies so that they can get all the nutrients they need to stay healthy. I alway introduce them and give them new veggies, herbs and fruits for variety sake.

Where are selling Harringtons? I just looked in Morrisons whilst getting breakfast. None there, only rabbit

I went through a stage of mixing 2 brands of pellets together. Maybe that’s something you could try if you’re worried about Dot getting too many of the type she can’t have, that way it’s only a small quantity of both :)

I do this, with six piggies it's the only way to please al of the people. I often have 3 types of pellets mixed together, depending on how large the bags are I've bought. You don't want to many opened pellets hanging around going stale. I store mine in Quality Street tins, which reminds me I desperately need another tin. It's a struggle eating the contents - the things I have to do for these piggies. ;)

I also mix 2 brands.
When we first got the piggies they were all happily eating one brand which was suddenly stopped without warning, and we had a nightmare trying to get them to eat something else. So these days I have 2 brands that they both like and feed a mixture just in case one stops or changes their formula.

I store in cereal containers
