my homecheck for flash a skittish black and tan neutered boy. It was rather quick as the lady could see my set up very clearly and I had answered loads of questions already on the phone. She was very happy with my set up and the sizes of hutch and the now doubled up run (worth getting spiked by the chicken wire).

So she said phone the rspca tomorrow and she will be back out in 2/3 months time - I take that as a pass :) And I was convinced they wouldnt like my hutch with fleece not shavings and fabric beds - the woman on the phone was a little bewildered by it. She loved my girls and thought the ramp tunnel was fabulous and was impressed with the amount of research and knowledge I had just to give them a good home.

Just hope my girls like flash now (and I will be singing the queen song to him often :)) )

Brilliant news :)p - see they arnt there to judge, but it can be nerve racking I know especially when you really set your heart on the neutered boy to live with your girls.

I thought they would have loved the fleece better than sawdust as some rescues will not rehome to you if you used sawdust for piggies.

Anyway, please keep us all updated on your new arrival. x>>

Just hope the girls fall in love with Flash too.

Great news! All the best for the big intro!

I honestly didnt think I would pass so I wasnt worrying about the introduction too much

Now I am worrying about the introductions :{

I have a good set up, The wooden triangle run with the wire triangle run end to end, then on one side in a crescent shape is a puppy wire pen. The plan is to put the girls in the triangle runs and the boy outside in the puppy pen so they can sniff and say hello to get used to each other to begin with. Then to open the front bit of the wooden run up and to put him in with the girls (I have to shut him in then as fudge might still be too small for the puppy pen bar spacing), but with a total of 9 foot long and 2.5 foot wide I would hope there is enough space to get away from him or him from them during the chasing.

If it rains then I will bring the puppy pen inside and do the introductions in the kitchen - I can shut the door so pepper cant come and "introduce" herself to them.

Does this sound like a good plan or should I just plonk him in the run with the girls from the start?

TBH Ive always just put mine together on neutral ground (bathroom being the best lol) Then I can watch, but dont really interact, Just see how their behaviour is. A but chattering, rumbling etc is normal, but obviously not if they fight, sure it will go fine..

I wouldnt try using the runs first, if its somewhere that may have scent on .. good luck x

I can move them to a new patch of grass, I just dont really want to try to chase him around too much in a big area on his first day.

Aww, he's cute! x)

I remember having my homecheck a few years ago now, was scary! Glad it all went well and you should be getting a husboar for your babies soon! :D
