So when the goblins were off fresh veg for a few days, I got screamed at. A lot. Now they're back on veg and I've been giving it to them a bit at a time, piecemeal throughout the day.

Guess who no longer gets screamed at when he oversleeps and is late for breakfast? Now they get hay first thing instead and the veg/herbs etc start appearing at lunchtime up until about 8pm, basically when I'm going upstairs anyway which is as frequently as I need the toilet, lol. The goblins seem to be doing quite well with this system, and there's less squabbling over the veggies too.

I'm still not convinced they're eating it though. Inhaling it is a far more appropriate term. You'd think I starved them for a week 🤷‍♂️

Sounds a good plan, regular veg in small amounts through the day is much more like their natural diet and eating pattern in the wild, not that skinny pigs have a wild, probably your spare bedroom is as wild as any skinny pig ever got lol- but the guinea pig gut is evolved to graze and browse constantly on hay/marginal dried out scrub grass and find the occasional bonus tasty high nutrient plant bit once every couple of hours :)

Honestly it works out better for me, because they're not so constantly loud about being "unfed" and they actually eat...I don't want to say more, because it's not that they're getting more, but they're more likely to eat what they do get and stuff doesn't get left uneaten. And this way they also don't have the mindset of "it's feeding time at X time" too.

When I'm home all day and in and out of the pig rooms (which is literally half my house lol) I do the same, we start with a lettuce leaf or a cucumber chunk, then a hay and water top up, then maybe get a chunk of babycorn or a strand of coriander next time I have a coffee break...
I never have any uneaten food, they get exactly what greedy snouts eat in 5 minutes then they get some hay and they know that hay means the veg shop is shut for a couple of hours!

And somewhere in the depths of a fleece cozy, two skinnypigs raise an eyebrow at each other. “Mission complete, Bann, mission complete.”

They actually have their massive beds in atm, the ones that flop over on themselves (a gift from @PigglePuggle) and it's genuinely hilarious to see them poke half a head out from underneath this fleece pile when there's food noises on the go lol.
