My piggie meal routine is now breakfast at around 8am, mainly a vegetable breakfast, and then food bowls and hay at about 4pm. All hutches get the same amounts of food barring the 2 single boys who get slightly less. Whats left in the bowls gets thrown away and refilled with fresh every night, and hay racks filled and wet bedding hay taken out and replenished.

So imagine my surprise this morning, when I went to the girls hutch and there wasn't a scrap of food left in their bowl, no eating hay or bedding. They're eating more than the boys do. I thought they were tidier at first, but now they are so messy, still not at the stage where they'll take vegetables out of my hands, but it is early days yet.

The boys eat the bits they like out of the hay, where the girls have wolfed the whole lot, I don't think they were given much hay at their previous owners, and have taken vegetables slowly, because their previous owners were pretty vague about feeding, and I think they're on the smaller side to say they're full grown, but then I'm used to big strapping boys. They'll be bigger than the boys if they keep eating in these amounts. They've been good eaters since they came to me on Saturday, but last night must've exceled theirselves.

Photo's will follow when they start coming out of their box when I'm out with them, at the moment they're very flighty and scurry inside if they hear the back door opening.

That sounds like good news! look forward to seeing some pictures!

I haven noticed that piggies coming from a bad background tend to scoff and make up when they come to a caring home! It's a good sign - and expect them to grow in weight and size over the next few months; adult or not!

Looking forward to pictures of the two girls!

My sadly missed Dizzy was a Daisy with a Lulu in her previous home...

i have to argee Wiebke ben (in my picture) came from a animal market when i got him home he ate everything in site would shout at me if i was feeding the others first so tried feeding him first but he still shouted then! which ever breeder had him didnt feed him enough as his teeth were a grey colour he has now calmed down but did take him about 2 months to do so xx

I'm really glad they're eating up nicely. They must be feeling really secure and happy with you! Lovely to hear about.

Great to hear your girls have got a good appetitie and are settling well :)
