My guinea pig Leo, has been sneezing for the last couple weeks. Also, he has a little eye booger looking thing in his left eye each morning. He is 3 months and usually runs around but lately has been sitting in his tunnel lathargic. When he tries to squeak it comes out as a faint wheeze. Also, he rumbled at my do but it came out as a rattling sound. What should I do??

Get him to a vet ASAP. Guinea pigs with a URI go downhill very quickly. Is he eating and drinking as normal?

If in any doubt, please have him checked out by a vet. The occasional sneeze is normal, frequent sneezes are not. It may not be URI, but a dust allergy that is obstructing his breething. But that is for a vet to decide.

Thanks you guys. He is eating normally and his squeaking is sounding better. I took him to the vet about a month ago, and they said he had ringworm which might be part of the problem. However, he has been on medication ever since then so I don't know whats up with him.

Ringworm medication does not usually cause respiratory type symptoms. Ringworm can affect the immune system though so he could be more susceptible to a URI while he is still recovering. What medication is it he is on? Itrafungol?
