I
igglepiggle
Hi everyone,
I hope you can help me! I have recently acquired two baby (15 weeks) guinea pigs, both girlies as a 30th birthday present from my sister (re-living my childhood now that I can really appreciate my little lovelies!) the problem is, they don't seem to be settling very well. This is their third day and whilst I had quite a breakthrough with one of them (Piggle) who sat reasonably happily on my knee and even nibbled some fresh grass whilst she was having a little cuddle. The other one (Iggle) just appears to be terrified! She was trembling when she sat on my knee and wouldn't even look at the peace offering of fresh grass, cucumber or carrot. They seem to both be happy in their hutch (in the shed) but because there are two of them its quite difficult to judge whether they are both eating and drinking. I have seen Piggle tucking into her food happily several times but Iggle seems to always be hanging back and only nibbling a bit at the choice bits of apple. Will she come out of her shell do you think? I keep thinking she is going to die of shock everytime a speak near her! Is there anything I can do to win her over? I'm going to try some different veg and fruit until i find something they cannot resist. And I am going to be patient and just keep doing the same routine with a 15 minute cuddling session every day. I was rather hoping they would want to come and have a little run out in the conservatory today for exercise, but it seems to be a bit over-welming for them both yet. Any tips anyone?
