Came home this afternoon to find poor little Paul with his nose in the corner of his cage..he will not eat or drink. I called the vet and they will not see him. He is 6 1/2 yrs old. He does not seem to be in any pain. Have tried to give him water with an eye dropper but he won't drink...don't know what else to do but try and make him comfortable.😭😭😭😭😭

We are pretty far out in the country, Indiana. USA..the vet I use for my Pomeranian has made some pretty strick guidelines with the covid situation...not sure that is the reason...I guess my pig is considered an exotic animal? They apparently don't take care of guineas. Doing what I can for him but unfortunately belt tightening is a consideration as well..by the time I got home this afternoon my only option would have been the university's animal hospital. ( after hours) They are way out of my budget. Hoping and praying for the best. Will see what tomorrow brings, I may be able to do some calling around and see who may be able to help him.

And just that fast he is gone..sweet little Paul has passed..seemingly very peacefully. Never to be forgotten ❤️😭

6 and a half years is a good life for a guinea pig so it's clear you were looking after him well. Be kind to yourself and any other guinea pigs you have and we will be here to support you as you grieve.

What a lovely life he had with you. It's heartbreaking when they leave us. I'm so sorry, please take care of yourself x
