My guinea pig Penny I noticed has been acting a little weird. I was watching tv, and I heard a noise, and I’m not sure but I think it could’ve been her breathing. I went and picked her up and I don’t know what it was. Maybe wheezing? I can’t really describe it. But she’s sitting here with me and she doesn’t sound bad. It sounds like it’s coming from her nose

Hi!

Just keep an eye on her. It is hopefully just a bit of hay dust stuck in her nose that will clear with a sneeze. Keep in mind that guinea pig airways are very small and narrow and they are not mouth breathers. this means that any little obstruction in the nasal passages is always sounding much more dramatic than it is.

See a vet if it doesn't clear within a few hours or gets noticeably worse in this space of time.

Ok. It’s the next morning and I haven’t heard anything yet but I think after this episode of Netflix I will go over and pick her up and see.

In this case I would not worry; it was most likely just a temporary mild blockage from a little hay dust or such. :tu:
