...Sweetie had Ringworm last December. I was already in a bad place and it made me worse. Just checked Cutie and she has a tiny bloody scab on her nose and what looks like white flakes.

I think it's come back.

I deep clean the cage every week. Everything is washed at 60 degrees. I disinfect with F10.

I cannot do any more for these piggies. They have hay, hidies and fleecy things. They also have a vita munch block and a carrot cottage to gnaw on. No hanging toys, no wooden toys in case of infection. I have thrown out so many toys every time an infection comes on that it isn't funny anymore.

I cannot stop the outbreaks. I'm obviously doing something wrong. I'm thinking of taking them in to a rescue, or a serious downsize, as I cannot cope with Ribgworm outbreak every 3 months. It's wearing me out. I'm sure someone else can take better care of these beautiful creatures. I love them so much this is killing me. :(

Anyone have any other suggestions?

Hi. Sorry I don’t think I can help. But I am sure someone from our fantastic forum will be able to help. Keep the faith xx

Ringworm is ringworm. I can't help with it, but I know that it's not something you're doing to cause it. It's notoriously hard to clear and I believe I saw it said on the forum before that the spores can last for a year. That's a long time and a long wait.
I know it doesn't feel right, but you're not responsible and it isn't your fault.

Don't feel bad, honestly it sounds like you're doing all the right things. The weather isn't helping, we've had so many changes from cold to warm barmey days.
I can't suggest anything else other than what you've been doing.

I am so sorry, this is not any fault of yours at all just bad luck. What did the vet give you to treat last time?

When Mabel had ringworm it did come back despite my cage cleaning frenzy. It wasn’t reinfection from a loose spore in the cage but probably a remaining one on her. We opted for a further and longer course of oral treatment (several weeks) and it did the trick. What did the vet give you last time?

Hi!

If your piggy's immune system is slightly suppressed/weaker, ringworm can make a comeback. I had this happen with a piggy which was found to have an irregular heartbeat at the time. A five weeks interval course of itrafungol did sort out the problem.

Please don't despair. Ringworm can be a real beast to get on top of, despite your best efforts. It's not your fault and you aren't doing anything wrong.

So sorry this ringworm problem has come back, please don’t feel it’s your fault. It just takes one spore.

Aw @Flamestriker that sucks. Sending healing wheeks and hugs. Though I'd honestly trade you the ringworm for our new baby skinny pig trying to fight the boss pig to the death today. Piggies keep us at the vets all the time, we've been twice this week. Good job they are worth it, though its hard to see that on a bad day when everything goes wrong. More hugs and wheeks x
