I have written before how Ruby is a particularly opinionated pig when it come to the people she will allow to handle her.
Basically the list consists of one person - DD1.
Ruby adores DD1 and hates everyone else.
There is a video about it here:
Sweet, Sweet Ruby.

But today I thought we had made a breakthrough.

The girls were sitting on the sofa, and DD1 was holding Ruby.
After about 30 minutes Ruby got up and walked across the sofa to climb onto DD2’s lap.
DD2 was thrilled - this is the first time Ruby has voluntarily chosen to be with another person.
Ruby turned around (like she was going to flop down) and did the most enormous pee all over poor DD2.
She then jumped off DD2’s very soggy lap, trotted back across the sofa, and climbed onto her beloved DD1.

If I hadn’t seen it myself I wouldn’t have believed it, but it really did look very deliberate and calculated.
I think we might have underestimated Ruby.

Oh Ruby...that was quite a thing to do and I feel certain you did it on purpose. DD2 really didn't expect to be used as a toilet! Oh dear!. :no:You see our late great Pedro only let female humans pick him up or cuddle him. He had to be transported in his tube by his male human slave. Ruby..why not try what Pedro used to do..wee in the tube during transportation! That'll surprise both DD1 and DD2 xx

Oh my goodness, Ruby you are such a character! My boys always hop off our laps if they need to wee during lap time, and they opt to wee on to the sofa instead. I guess Ruby thought along those lines, too. :))

How can a face so angelic hide such a devious nature? Naughty Ruby. Poor DD2 must have felt so affronted. Ruby certainly does nothing for sibling harmony does she?

Oh ruby!

Please tell your pee soaked daughter that Ruby was just claiming her as her territory. We all know that’s a lie but better than the “yes dear, Ruby hates you” :D

Charming piggy! Sorry, but are DD1 and DD2 family?

How does the peed on daughter feel? Does she have a favourite piggy too ?
Yes she does have a special pig.
Thankfully Eddi loves her the best.
I actually wrote about that in this thread:
Kisses From Eddi

She was very upset at first about being peed on, and it didn't help we were all laughing, but she did get over it.
The girls have accepted that the pigs have different personalities and likes and dislikes, and Ruby just doesn't like many people!
But it is their personalities that make them such interesting pets.
But honestly before we had them I would never have believed just how individual each one could be.

My previous pigs lived outside in a hutch in a shed, and in all honesty although they were checked daily, I just didn't spend that much time with them.
I still feel guilty about that, but 20 years ago that's how guinea pigs were kept.
Now having the guinea pigs inside I have learnt so much more about them, and of course the girls adore them (even Ruby).

Poor DD2 but in saying that I still had to laugh lol. How could such a cute and innocent looking pigging be so devious.

Ruby you cheeky little girl. I bet DD2 was impressed with you. You need to share your cute cuddles.
That face though, like butter wouldn't melt :luv:

LOL! Sneaky Ruby... when Hadley was younger she used to walk across the couch to bite other people (who presumably shouldn't have been on Hadley's couch!) But Ruby is much more subtle and passive-aggressive!

I love her picture... she reminds me a bit of our previous pig, Linney!

This is amazing. I could easily believe it was on purpose. Toast would only come to me and would scream the house down if my Mum dared touch her or even breathe near her. Piggies are so funny that way with their personalities, they know what the like and that's that

Ha ha! That was so funny! Ruby has real attitude! Passive aggressive at its best. I love hearing tales of Ruby :) always cheers me up!
